Hello and welcome to the series two recruitment thread for the highly praised spin-off edition of the very successful DS: Next Top Artist game that we all know and love.

The most recent of the Next Top Artist series' introduced a new rule favouring indie acts by the host. The concept of Next Top Guilty Pleasure is to completely contradict this and is designed for artists who are both mainstream and some who may well be considered as Guilty Pleasures, hence the name. Therefore, following the exact same pattern of the first series, there will be no The Pierces, no White Lies, no Bjorks!! and even no Lykke Lis - what an absolute shame! However there will be the Avril Lavignes, the Mikas, the Britneys and perhaps we'll even plunge further into the real definition of Guilty Pleasure and meet the 5ives throughout the competition, now doesn't that sound far more enjoyable? I'd like to think so.

The first series of Next Top Guilty Pleasure went incredibly smoothly and resulted in being a success when we saw Shakira take the debut crown, with the excellent Taylor Swift coming an incredibly close second place. Unfortunately for you all, this meant that I would be hosting the second series, so here I am. This is the point where I'm a tad more personal and insist when choosing your act, you don't do the typical Aliyah method in going for the least eligible guilty pleasure artist ever with the hope that they have the best chance of winning, because as we found out with Pink last year, this wasn't the case! Choose your act carefully.

(Sorry Aliyah, I didn't mean to pick on you...)

I'm lying, I SO did.

Due to my extremely impressive organisation skills, I have already PMed approximately thirty of you weeks ago, asking whether you would like to reserve your artists early as I would like to get quite a swift start with the competition! I have now received over twenty artists and whilst I would like more, I would like to thank you for being so organised and I can also tell you that you can still change your act if you like, but beware that many popular artists have already been chosen due to the common first-come-first-serve system. I believe I have confirmed all the acts you have asked for but if I haven't then please let me know! However the main point here is that I would still like to welcome new players, very appreciatively, and hope to reach the target of thirty participants or even beyond. My hosting skills will hold no limits... obviously.

Impressively, many of you participated in the first series and those who didn't, I'm sure watched and voted throughout the competition. However, for those who may be new to the X Factor games, I will repost the rules that were defined last year as nothing has changed since then! Who would want to change something like Next Top Guilty Pleasure? No one, exactly! Anyway, here are those ever-so-fun rules that everybody loves, below.

• Each player mentors one existing artist or band, it can be anyone who is eligible for the mainstream or guilty pleasure guidelines, and should be an artist or band who has recorded at least 12 different tracks, preferably more (this will vary depending on how many people take part).
  
  
• Each mentor nominates a track by their chosen artist or band each show (that successfuly fits the eligiblity of the theme). Every song is performed by the artist or band on the thread, like in any X Factor game that we all know and love.
  
  
• After the performances, mentors rank each of the songs, including their own, from favourite to least favourite. Members of the public can also vote (ranking all the songs).
  
  
• The votes are tallied and a bottom two, or three, is announced. The mentors then take turns voting out one of the bottom two (there is no sing off). The artist with the most votes is then eliminated.
  
  
• The guilty pleasures MUST be proper guilty pleasure type acts, and so zero credibility here, please.

In relation to the last rule, I will be very strict with this, so please take notice of it!

In case you are still a little unsure or wary of how the show is going to (very sucessfully) pan out, here are a few, or four to be exact, links defining a few highlight moments of the first series, which was hosted by the extremely friendly Gav016 who we all know and love...

• Show One: Live Show.
• Show One: Results.
• The Final.

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention - (well, I didn't as I've had this ready to post for weeks) - but the shows will undoubtedly take place on MONDAYs and THURSDAYs and will not differ unless there is a very valid reason. I expect all song choices to be in the day before the show begins as I would like to send out a song list for those who like to vote prematurely. Any who fail to send a song choice in will most likely have to face others ranking your artist whether you have a song or not - which should mean an automatic bottom ranking and an inevitable bottom two or three appearance.

• The results will take place on the same night as the live show an hour after the show has ended.
• There are going to be no singoffs, though mentors will vote for the artist they would like to save in the exact same manner as last year unless specified otherwise.
• There are, undoubtedly, going to be absolutely no songlists. The performances will be posted in the exact same format as the debut series.

Once I have confirmed your artist, feel free to send me an introduction you would like to post in order for us to have more of a background knowledge on your artist before the show actually begins. An example of this is from Kelly Clarkson last year. Also, once confirmed, you may also send me a song choice for the first show which will be seven days from now - MONDAY 9th JULY - where the theme will be FREE CHOICE. Yes, similarly to last year, I have given you an easy start in the competition.

Quick reminder.

• The introductory thread for the artists (and mentors) is set to air at TOMORROW at 7pm; and remember, if you want to send me an introduction for me to post, that would be fantastic.
• This means that I can accept no more acts after tomorrow at 7pm, so there's a deadline for you if you are hesitant to participate.
• I will also need to start collecting in songs, (I have received about 10 songs already), so please get those in soon.
• Remember that the first theme is FREE CHOICE and the first live show will be MONDAY with the results on the same night.
