Raydons media server keep losing laptop network connection
Hi
I have been using the excellent media server by Raydon for sometime. but i only use it occasionaly. each time ( could be weeks apart) i cant access the hdr by the shortcut on my desktop or by typing in the ip address. I re load the media bundle and all is well. Then i lose it again. it seems to me that hdr is updating itself or similar and wiping Raydons stuff. Anyone else expeienced this? or have any ideas what it is and how to cure it many thanks in advance |

Two possible reasons spring to mind.
1The Foxsat is set to DHCP so the IP address is changed due to your router issuing a different address. Check the IP address that your box reports in the menus. - Solution use a fixed ip address outside the pool of addresses your router is set to allow. 1 Mongoose has crashed (an occasional problem). in this case a reboot of the foxsat will restore comms or if you have telnet installed then open a cmd window telnet ipaddress service start mongoose. http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...63&postcount=4 |

When you are able to access the web interface the settings page does report version 4.0.7?

Graham, the hdr is set to manual ip address ( 192.168.1.7) there are only 4 other devices on the network when i start up the box the humax splash screen says U7.54 regarding the link you showed, the DHCP range is from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254 I am going to reboot and reload the bundle now and see what happens |

This release includes setting the Foxsat clock and several flags to indicate the type of boot which daily processes examine to determine if they should run or not. |

What I recommend is making an address reservation on the router - doing this you will always get the same address, have up to date name servers and no address conflicts. If you have a number of hosts plus guests then a quick look at the DHCP settings tells you all - trying to remember how you manually set up fixed addresses two years back is a pain.

This is normally in advanced lan settings and usually termed 'Address Reservation' - here you assocate an ip with a mac address - if you select add normally the mac addresses are prompted. The HDR does not show a host name.
