Line on pan shots with Panasonic TX-L32ET5B

I bought a Panasonic Viera TX-L32ET5B which was delivered about 9 days ago. I was delighted with it until a friend pointed out a slight vertical 'line' which only seems to happen on panning shots. Well it is a sort of difference in darkness over about 1 cm which is about 5-6 inches from the left hand side.

Now that I've had it pointed out it has become annoying. I looked at the same model in Tesco today but couldn't spot anything similar - although the conditions and picture showing weren't ideal.

I've tried out the internal tuner as I suspected my two external boxes might be generating it - though it still did the same thing (on the tennis).

Is this a known fault or should I return the TV to John Lewis for replacement? It seems odd that it only happens on panning shots. Anyone know what that might be? I've had vaguely similar lines on CRTs in the past but I think that was down to some fault in the driver circuit?

p.s. the HDMI1 input no longer works properly either, the picture is fine but not sound to TV speakers - the three other HDMI inputs work fine though. I could live with that as I use an exteral amp but the line is irritating.

Sometimes you do get minor faults and glitches. However the set is new and you paid good money. Therefore you should insist on a replacement set. As John Lewis prides itself in excellant customer service, this should not be a problem. I am sure they will be more than happy to offer you a replacement set.
