How do you search for printers?

I'm looking for a cheap printer with 4 separate ink cartridges.

I've tried searching Google, Google shopping and ebay. Each time the search results are full of cartridges or cables rather than printers themselves. Narrowing the search on ebay doesn't exclude cartridges or cables.

Google shopping appears to show results for printers, but when you click on results you're back to cartridges, even when there's a gleaming picture of a printer at the top of the page!

Help, please.

Something like this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Epson-Stylus...1310574&sr=8-3
or
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_...inters&x=0&y=0

or this
http://www.ebuyer.com/search?q=printers&x=0&y=0

I appreciate the help.

The first link looks good. How do I search ebay (or google) for the cheapest new one available?

The second two are searches, and you've ensured I get to printers by choosing 'relevant' or 'relevancy'. Fair enough: how do I then find the cheapest available one without looking at every page? If I change the option to price, back come the ink cartridges!

I recently bought Epson SX130 All-in-one. USB. (£29.99 Argos)

I just went to Argos, Tesco, Comet etc websites and looked manually what they had.
Sometimes had to double check number of carts by Googling the models. It wasn't always mentioned.

Wireless/LCD Screens/Card Slots etc can be had for not much more, but I wanted cheap and simple. I also wanted local stores in case of Returns.

Thanks for the info. Did it come with the ink cartridges?

I've found it in the catalogue at £34.99 - it must be discounted by £5 now. They've got ink at £32.99, with an implication it isn't included. It's a while since I bought a printer. Is this the latest trick, to not include ink?

It comes with a set of 4. Partially filled.

If you buy epson, carts are generally cheap if you shop around on-line. I haven't bought my first replacemnt set yet.

Previous Lexmark then Canon were awful prices.

Example here. But as I say not tested yet.

Always worried compatibles won't work (I was previously a syringe refiller).
Reviews help.

As I found out to my cost once - before buying a new printer, find out the cost of replacement carts.

Neither link provides the cheapest new one available! And when you click on results you're back to cartridges.

Try a comparison site e.g
http://www.idealo.co.uk/compare/2954...us-sx445w.html
http://www.google.co.uk/products/cat...d=0CK0BEPMCMAI

For the most part there's very little price difference

That's what I always do. I know someone who bought a crappy Lexmark printer and the ink was more expensive than the printer, so I told them about my "alternative" ink replacement method for Lexmark printers. It involves putting said printer into a black plastic bag, taking it outside, swinging it over your head three times, throwing it against the wall and then going to buy a decent printer (eg Epson) We only ever use Epson printers although my dad has a Samsung laser printer which is really good. Lexmark is banned in our house.

Last week I bought an Epson SX535WD, £74 from Amazon, and 10 compatible carts (2 complete sets and 2 more blacks) also from Amazon for £15. It has 4 carts, wifi, duplex (2 sided) printing, a scanner and copier, and you can print photos directly via card. It has a good review from Which? too. It's only £67 now and a bargain.

I appreciate the links and comments.

The last link gives 80 results which, afaikt, cannot be sorted by price.

Been loads of help here. AFAIKT the specific answer to the specific question is: you can't.

You cannot have a list of printers, and only printers, from ebay (or google), sorted by price from lowest to highest.

Put the printers name in a Google search. Click on Google Shopping from the bar along the top. Click on (I think left hand side) and choose from low to high price. Job done - you will get some cartridges thrown in but you just flick ona few pages.

if you don't do photo printing then colour lasers can be had for as little as £55.
