To be honest, they like to build people up and then knock them down. Some of the comments after some articles are disgraceful. However, I think people will tire of her if she doesn't get out and do some worthwhile charity work, instead of just modelling clothes

Been reading this - some harsh comments about Kate being lazy and a scrounger and never worked in her life etc.
No surprise

It's the Daily Mail. To their readership, the unemployed, the disabled, amputees, paralytics, everyone who isn't the chairman of a bank etc...are all lazy, scroungers, spongers, parasites etc...

Pay them no attention.

Kate is involved with a lot of charities actually. She doesn't go out "modelling clothes" - she attends functions (royal, charitable and otherwise) and gets photographed. It's the papers that go on about her clothes, not her.

[quote=Sadeyed;59309130]Here's my take on it, for what it's worth.

She's a very pretty girl who was lucky enough to marry the man she fell in love with. If he had not been a member of the royal family, I still think she would have married him, I don't believe that featured in her equation.

Every time you see her photographed she is smiling and laughing, never miserable and I think she is trying her level best to carry out the "job" she married into.

She can work her ass off and do charity work till it comes out of her ears, but there will still be some sour people who have to have a "dig" every time she is featured in a paper. Unfortunately that's the price she paid for marrying who she did.

However, I think she thinks it's all worth it because she is doing it for the guy in her life, who I believe she adores.

I'm not a big supporter of the monarchy but I honestly don't see what this lass has done to deserve the vilification that she gets.[/QUOTE

Her parents company I believe. Think they built it from the ground up from what I read so it's not like she was born into riches

90% of what they write will vanish because its all based on acid blood jornos who sit there all day

Her dad was a pilot and her mum an air hostess when they met. They started a company and became wealthy from that. Kate worked for them once she finished uni . She appears a nice lady and she is married for love that's for sure. As for her sister I feel sorry for her.. The press made a fuss about her and follow her every move since the wedding day. She didn't ask for the attention but I don't have a problem with her enjoying it.

Well, if DM comments posters are ranting about Kate, it makes a change for their usual, and equally undeserved, loathing for Beatrice and Eugenie.

Oh and lovely to see Steffi Graf there! She's only my favourite tennis player ever. Such a wonderful player and a gracious person.

Willies beard and Harrys lover! I noticed even on the day Kate became Catherine the future queen blah blah the day they got married it was Harry who looked lovingly at her, he couldn't take his eyes off her ..not William.

William has issues he must hide I bet and his wife has more chemistry with the naughty sexy Harry!

... So you find someone taking a crap sexy?

I think you are yet another person using synonyms they shouldn't to sound smarter than they are. I think you meant exudes or oozes, not excretes. Your Word Of The Day calendar has led you astray.

He did look bashful at the Abbey when she arrived.

I like Catherine. This is a clear case of damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

I'm not too keen on her siblings though. I'm sure they're lovely people, but....

I think it was reported in the papers recently that Charles contributed around £35,000 for Kate's clothes this year. If we're to believe that her outfits for Royal appointments cost under £100, she's either spending a lot on her private wear (do I even want to know ) or she should have a new outfit almost every day.

Whether it's intentional or not, I think she's doing a great job promoting British Designers, though,

Agree with both. I don't really like the idea of a Royal Family, but have nothing against them personally, and Kate always comes across as a sweet and lovely lady. DM readers love to hate anyone.

I did get a bit sick of the media obsession with Pippa Middleton, but thankfully that seems to have quietened down since the incident in France. And in any event, it was hardly Kate's fault.

+1 this

I waited 7 years before I married by husband, does that make me waity Lollytroll?
I doubt she only hung around cause he was a royal but they both waited for the right time for them.
Ok so she did not have a job outside the family buisness but still she worked for them, loads of people do this
I am not into the Royals but people seem to just enjoying being nasty to her

I agree. There have been some pretty spiteful comments on here about her and William.

As for Pippa, I agree there is nothing particularly special about her. But she doesn't really court all the press attention, it was imposed on her after the wedding. As someone said, it seems to be dying down now.

There's a lot of arguments like "Oh, she's lazy", or that the charitable causes she's chosen are too low-maintainence, or whatever.

FWIW, I think she seems to do a lot of royal appearances with William and seems to always be friendly and engaged with members of the public. It should also be remembered that William's royal duties aren't vast on the basis that he isn't the immediate heir to the throne: Charles does an awful lot, but he is the heir. I'm sure William and Kate will take on more duties as they get older.

.. I also think a factor in all this (aside from the 'build 'em up, knock 'em down' mentality) is, sadly, the media drawing unfair comparisons to Diana. (Yawn). Diana drew a lot of attention to good causes, and fair play to her, but we have to remember the media circus around her meant she completely overshadowed everyone else in the Royal Family and that caused a lot of pressure and strain. I think Kate, and her advisors, will be trying very hard to keep things more low-key for her on that basis, she doesn't want the pressure to get unbearable and make things difficult for her and William.
