They are ok I guess, but they look like something that should be worn by pensioners

Every girl should own a pair of Ugg boots and express her individuality by wearing them with a denim mini skirt and black tights.

OP Roger is a former FM who loved Ugg Boots. The novelty with it was the fact that he's a guy - he got a lot of stick for it. http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showt...highlight=uggs
I'm not sure why Kiki whatever keeps banging on, but then they sound very much like "I love Ellie," http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showp...9&postcount=13 Personally they are not for me. I don't like to wear what everyone else is wearing. |

He couldn't stop going on about Ugg boots. As for 'I Love Ellie', I've no idea who he or she is, but like me, seems to have spent time around South West London, where just about every teenage girl seems to sport this look, complete with Uggs. |

I'd love a pair of real proper uggs! I've always had to buy the cheaper ones, not fake sheepskin, just cheaper names. I'm wearing shepherds life ATM. Only wear them round the house though. They were £85 but due to the amount of wear they have had it works out at practically £0.00 per day

I will never buy a pair of Uggs or Uggs knockoffs. I find their popularity staggering.
One reason is our weather- the near constant rain. I am mildly amused by girls wandering the streets in uggs that are soaked up to the ankle. Must be horrible and squelchy in there. The second thing is that is makes people walk in a strange shuffly sort of way. The third reason is, that, although apparently comfortable, they are one of the worst things you can wear in terms of looking after your feet. I had some foot problems recently and my podiatrist said the the fashion for Ugg boots and ballet pumps was making him his fortune. He was getting new clients on a weekly basis. He was practically rubbing his hands with glee! They offer absolutely no support to your ankle or the arch of your foot and if you have even a slightly low or slightly high foot arch, you are headed for trouble. You only need to walk behind someone wearing them to see all the foot rolling that goes on. Most Ugg boots I see, have rolled so far inwards that part of the soft bit on the inside of the ankle is practically touching the pavement. So no thanks! |

I've always thought when you see them collapsed inwards it was because they were too big at the start. What happens is they are super tight to begin with but take on the shape of your foot and you're good to go. What a lot of people do is get them in too big a size, then they collapse and you have no foot support. Mine are about 2.5 years old and they haven't collapsed. They have a good solid heel support in them. |

I've had 2 operations on my knee and I still wear UGGs, my consultant told me they were fine as the foot isn't flat on the floor and has some cushioning. However, I couldn't wear fake ones, they offer no support at all and people tend to walk with their foot on a slant.
I have 2 pairs of UGGs one for everyday use and one for work. I'm a barmaid so being on my feet all day, UGGs are amazing. As I'm a student aswell I wear my everyday pair a lot, so handy and comfy, which is what you need in a long day.I live in them in winter, with my knee problems I can't put too much pressure on them, and I've never slipped on ice in UGGs. I don't understand why people wear them with shorts though. Denim shorts, bare legs and UGGs. Why?!?!?! |

At first thought Uggs were hideous but I quite like them now, I still wouldn't wear them but I bought a pair for me 8 yr old daughter 2 years ago, she find them so comfortable that she insist on wearing them all the time. They keep the shape really well and my daughter can wear them in the snow, rain and when its sunny. I think it's worth the money. The only problem I have with Ugg is the image, too many Chavs wear them, I would feel embarrass wearing ugg but for children its fine.

I love my sheepskin boots but buy Bearpaw from TK Maxx. Wouldn't buy Ugg's as I find the company distasteful

Article: "Still wearing your Uggs? Your feet aren't thanking you. The persistently trendy boots are the subject of a new wave of criticism by health experts in the United Kingdom, who say that the furry footwear - and its many cheap knockoffs - are "harming the feet of a generation of young women," "Because these boots are warm and soft, young girls think they are giving their feet a break. In fact, they are literally breaking their feet," Dr. Ian Drysdale, head of the British College of Osteopathic Medicine, told the paper. "Their feet are sliding around inside. With each step, the force falls towards the inside of the foot and the feet splay," Drysdale explained. "This flattens the arch and makes it drop. The result can be significant problems with the foot, the ankle and, ultimately, the hip." Google "Are Uggs bad for your feet" and see the raft of articles saying that they are only suitable for very light use. Even Uggs themselves say that they are comfort footwear, not suitable for wearing all day, more for lounging about in like slippers. |

I think Ugg boots are definitely a fashion item thats associated with the youth image. So as long as you're fine with that, then its all good. |

No it's because the person wearing them has foot arches that make their ankles roll inward and because Uggs, even the genuine ones, provide absolutely no stability for the ankle, the foot rolls freely inward. You see the same with ballet pumps, where the sides have collapsed inwards.

I find it impossible to believe that footwear that comfortable and which never makes your feet hurt could apparently being doing a lot of long term damage. I think there's far more risk from living in high heels than living in Ugg boots or similar, because high heels are putting your feet into an unnatural position. That's what people should be worrying about! |

They look damn ugly and make people look like they can't pick their feet up when they're walking. Hideous and expensive. Save a bit more money and buy some decent waterproof long lasting boots like dubarrys.
