botnets on android....

yet again another story has come out highlighting the use of malicious software on android...this time botnets according to the bbc.

Since getting my S2 last year i have heard a handful or reports now.

why isn't Google doing anything about security on the platform.?
is it time they made the apps side of things more closed down like apple?

Don’t believe you are ‘safe’ – just better protected – a bit like a condom really…protects well from most things but don’t rely on it totally! LOL

Not debunked, no.

Google have simply suggested a different explanation. Both are possible and either could be true.

I would imagine Yahoo's investigation will reveal the source as they'll be able to analyse who owns the IP addresses the messages originated from.

I don't know why some people find it hard seeing which apps on the store are obviously reputable and which are more risky...
