Hello and welcome to the ACT REVEAL thread for the second series of Next Top Guilty Pleasure and I can say now that I am very pleased with the amount of interest the show has gathered and I'm looking very forward to hosting it.

Over the course of the next hour or two, we will be meeting the forum members, and future mentors, who will be participating in this series, as well as the artists they have chosen to mentor alongside them. Since I am a dedicated fan of conspiracy theories, I noticed that he who wrote the longest introduction for his act won the competition - perhaps the cycle will repeat itself - and yes, I did have to get it in the introductory part of the thread that I won the first series of the competition again, as well as feeling the need to bold it. The best part of those who have decided to participate though, is the fact I have landed on an even number, so I am very pleased about this - in fact, it makes life a whole lot easier as I don't have to kick Aliyah out.

So, a few of you have given me introductions which I will be posting and some of you have decided not to send them in, it was optional so I didn't mind either way.

However, please let me remind you that the first live show is next Monday, which is Monday 9th July, so I will need all of your songs in prior to Monday so I can send a list out to those participating in case they cannot make it for the show, or that they would prefer to vote prematurely anyway. Also, this gives more time to vote. Therefore, I will be sending a list of all the songs out to members the night before the show. I would also like to remind you that the first theme is FREE CHOICE, so whilst you have plenty of decisions to make on what song you would like to choose, I'd prefer those decisions were made sooner rather than later. I have, appreciatively, received approximately fifteen songs already - so thank you for your organisation.

Anyway, now that the boring, elongated paragraphs are out of the way...

So, I was originally thinking about posting in an order of mentors who I like, beginning with who I don't like and ending with the people I do like. So that's exactly what I'm going to do, and the first mentor is...

Alexos.

I'm joking, obviously I'm going in an alphabetical order. Nevertheless, here is his introduction for his act, who I'm sure he is -totes excite- to mentor.

The young lady I will be bringing to the competition has been releasing material in the UK since the early 2000s, although she had to wait till her third album to claim a well deserved number 1 single and album. Nevertheless, she represents a diverse number of styles including pop, latin, hip-hop and r&b; I hope I'll get the chance to share them all with you! Please welcome:

and here is the introduction for her artist, which she changed at the very last minute under absolutely zero pressure or anything.

Okay so it took me aaages to find a "guilty pleasure" artist that I really love, and this time I wanted it to be a 'real' guilty pleasure, which is why I ultimately decided to change my artist from Gwen Stefani to this act last minute.

This group were originally founded in 1995 as a burlesque troupe. However, as of 2011, The group sold 15 million albums and 37 million singles worldwide making them one of the best-selling girl groups of all time with a total of 52 million records. They have received a 2005 Grammy Award nomination, and the group have become branded into several ventures.

I'd consider their material to be R&B, dance-pop with a bit of old-school funk thrown in there. Some of my personal favourite songs have actually been produced by Timberland so I hope I can showcase those songs from the album.
