When ever I see the word Eldorado I always think of one night it was on and a house across the road from me got raided by the police Used to love Eldorado it was a good soap and should have been allowed to run for a lot longer. When they killed it off it was just starting to find its feet.

Yes please, I'd love that kind of OTT soap.

BBC would be wary of trying to launch another soap set abroad again following the demise of the original show and more recently the shortlived Aussie soap Out of the Blue which they commissioned.

I would like to see it back though as it would add some colour and offer something different than the existing soap lineup, none of which I have watched full time in ages as I just don't find them interesting anymore. It's been years since viewers have had the opportunity to get to know brand new characters and enjoy a new soap. Unfortunately the only channel who seem to be bothered about making new soaps in the last 12 years has been ITV but given the way they scheduled Crossroads, Night and Day, The Royal Today and Echo Beach, the shows were bound to flop.

To work I think they would have to include a brand new cast. I don't think the show was really around long enough for them to be able to try and link the new series back to the old one like they did with Crossroads and the current Dallas revival. If they were to bring old characters back I'd like to see Trish and Joy return and maybe Marcus although he's a bit old now to be playing the playboy businessman.

OMG. I remember that. That was a really shocking storyline and was done very well. Then Javier died on his wedding day.
People can say what they like about the show but it was ahead of it's time in so many ways and was actually very good.

Was just thinking, will the rubbish weather outside, wouldn't a nice soap set in sunny Spain be nice and cheerful.

Telegraph poll update.

Is there a petition Kenny? I think as the nails slowly but surely go into EastEnders' coffin it should definitely be in line for a revival. An opportunity to blow Corrie and ED who are also failing out of the water - they should snap it up there has never been a better time with this miserable wet country we live in.

Sorry, but that's just regurgitating the views of the popular press at the time (a press which was gunning for the BBC regardingless).

Anyone who stuck with the show saw it improve dramatically into a really watchable and unique drama. The ratings it was getting latterly were fantastic and would be the envy of any show these days.

Even the man who wielded the axe has admitted it was the wrong decision.

I'm not a huge fan of shows set outside the UK so I don't think it would be my cup of tea... but then I have never seen Eldorado so maybe I guess
