Best headphones for £150
I'm looking for a good set of headphones to use when I'm out and about to use with my iPhone & PS Vita.
I've set a budget of £150 & was looking for suggestions in which set to buy. I mostly listen to dance, rap, drum & bass & dubstep. I know Beats are pretty bassy & suit those genres but are a bit overpriced. The pro's are about £350-400 but I can get a genuine second hand set for £130 which I think may be about the right price? (unsure which forum to post in so mods please move to most suitable one) |

Interesting...as I was only in HMV a couple of weeks ago and they have recently started selling some decent headphones and I was surprised at the variation in price and sound quality.
I started off listening to the cheaper end of the range up to the more expensive range and I cannot remember now which I preferred the most, but I know they were just below the mid-price range of that section. I am quite sure the higher end were well over £200 and I was un-impressed with the quality. As for what you mention 'Beats by Dr. Dre'.... they are vastly over-priced, and there are so many clones going for something like 75% cheaper in my local classifieds. Having only heard a couple of sets of these headphones, the bass sounds too muddy and it is simply not the true definition of proper hi-fi audio quality IMO.(They remind me of the Sony Mega-Bass headphones back in the late 80's/ early 90's....only the Sony headphones sounded better) ![]() Personally I would look a little further and I think if you do a bit more searching you can get something decent for less than your budget. From personal experience... have a closer listen to the 'Beyer Dynamic' range as they sound quite nice... I |

I agree with Gary. Beyers are vey good as are Sennheisers. You will need to try them out as we all have different ears!

It would have been interesting to see if you would have been more impressed compared to the others you tried if you did not know which were the cheap, the mid-price and the expensive ones.
Personally I wouldn't really go by the quality of a phone...but i will have another listen at some point as i have a better phone since last time...but i will write down the model, price and my own personal ratings...
