Can't believe I used to be obsessed with Britney when I was a teenager
I used to mad on her but seeing her latest concert, it was all mimed yet again (and this time the dancing wasn't even that upbeat so there's no excuse). She hasn't put any joy or effort into her performances since 2005
Also, it's like she never ever speaks her own mind, she is micro managed to the enth degree and she even asks her management if she can sign autographs! Come on Britney, you;re 30 not 16!!! She is as far away as an music artist you can get!!! It is still so manufactured. She hasn't grown as an artist, she's got worse. |

She's just literally a money making machine now, carted out in public to make profit. I think it's gotten to the point now where she would never be able to go in public without the paparazzi being all over her, which is a shame, because I think for the sake of herself, she needs to get away from the spotlight.

Are you talking about the Femme Fatale tour DVD? Because she actually did sing live on tour (Over a backing track, but it's widely reported that she sang live), they placed a pre-recorded track over the performance on the DVD, much to the annoyance of the fans because not only did it shoot down the defense of her not singing live, but it drowned out much of the crowd noise and took away a big chunk of atmosphere! Granted, her performances seem lacklustre these days, but she isn't the peppy, youthful teenager focused on her career. Britney's a mother now, her kids are clearly her priority and her job is now just a job. I enjoy her music so I don't mind if her performances are a little off. Also, regarding her growth as an artist, it was on track with Britney to In The Zone, and even to Blackout, but the breakdown and conservatorship have sandbagged her. Her label pushed for the direction of Circus to get commercial success again, and Femme Fatale is apparently a very different record from what it set out to be, once again at the hands of the label. A Will.I.Am recording session was arranged at the last minute to boost the appeal, and Dr. Luke was given priority on the tracklisting. End of the day: Britney is not a serious musician, she's a pop star not trying to change the world, but just bring a little happiness and fun to her fans. No harm in that, I say!

It'sTimmyTime, she mimed all the way through the FF Tour to a new "live sounding" track that was re-recorded but identical every single night. There were NO live vocals night-to-night on the tour.
EpixHD didn't like the rougher re-records though and dubbed with the album vocals. |

I've always been a Britney fan and always will be but I agree about the performances. I can't comment on the FF tour DVD as I haven't got around to watching it yet but one of my friends went to see her last October and she told me she only sung one song live. Another friend of mine went to see her a couple of years ago and she told me the same thing. I think she needs to get out of the public eye for a while. I enjoy her music though.

If she can't be bothered to make the effort with her live performances she should go and do tv or acting.
Because there are people out there like florence, adele,ga ga,rihanna who are doing it better than she is. Saddens me up till in the zone she was an amazing performer seems like she isn't that interested. I bet she'd like to give it up but her management won't let her. |

I have always loved Britney and as long as she makes quality music I will always love her.
She has grown as an artist, her music has gotten so much better over the years. Her live performances have decreased in quality, but she did sing live on her last tour, over backing tracks but its still an improvement. I went to the London show and it was pretty much all live. The reason I say this is because I'd watched months worth of videos of the tour on youtube, and a lot of the time the live vocal sounded different. Granted there were some pre-recorded tracks played at some shows, but on the most part I could here that she was singing live. |

Thanks for the replies - I thought I would be slated!
It honestly does just seem like she does it to make herself and management money. i get the impression she just can't be arsed anymore. It likes all the fun was zapped away. I know that happens to everyone if you do the same thing all of the time but if she really can't be bothered I wish she would do other projects. Just my opinion ps - yes I was talking about Femme Fatale - I admittedly only saw the DVD and I am very surprised to hear they put a pre-recorded track over her live singing?? Why would they do that? Would they not want to highlight that she does sing live or was she really that terrible? |

I can remember the first and last Britney album I bought which was Oops!... I Did It Again. Wasn't an obsessed fan but enjoyed her songs until she went cray cray and started smashing car windows with an Umbrella!

To be fair she was an icon of the late nineties and early noughties so it is hardly surprising.

She did have a good voice I thought I know it wasn't to everyones taste & a lot of her success was cosmetic but I love her voice on some of her tracks. & she's got lovely eyes lol.
I hope she is ok now & not all screwed up flashing her minge etc. That was sad to see. |

It was so sad to see her all happy and then gradually she just turned really sad and sort of robotic? I too never understood why she never wore knickers when she knew she had 100 paps around her taking photos but everyone's free to do what they want I guess and if going commando makes her happy then so be it :-D |

Britney Spears in all the music i love isnt "typical" but i think what has always attracted me to her is that sense that she is very insecure and has rebelled against the system in mroe ways than one....and like many others while i liked her with Baby One More Time to this day...when i really fell in love with her was when she mixed it up from her Teen Pop into some really darker territory on In The Zone....her media backlash was so dark, i felt and feel for her....it was a fascinating time too....and Blackout was a pean and an ode to that period of her life....Circus was commercial nonsense with a few moments of greatness....and Femme Fatale is a really strong Dance album!
I think what attracts me to Britney is that kinda reserved eccentricity she has. Its what attracts me to her and similarly it what attracted me to Judy garland, what attracted me to Marvin gaye...all very different artists in music....but that kinda darkness masked idea is fascinating! But yeah, she is a Pop Princess in more ways than one, and tbh i will always love Britney and follow her and support her and i wish her the best with everything. Will be interesting to see where she goes next tbh. |

We all make mistakes
We all used to be Britney fans at home. We had all of her materials and everything. Now we look back and laugh at ourselves. None of us are fans of Britney anymore. |

Britney is one of the laziest people in music. Me and a mate got some discounted tickets for her Femme Fetale tour and couldn't believe just how board she seemed to be. She barely spoke a sentence to the crowd and her most energetic moments were running off the stage between acts
The arena was only about 50% full too. I can now understand why. It's a shame because the show itself could have been brilliant. Some of the sets and song mixes were very impressive. I really wish she would pull her finger out. She is very lucky that she achieved so much early in her career because thats the only reason she is still regarded so highly these days. Any other artists who spends 6 years blindly releasing albums without any promo or interest wouldn't last 5 minutes. The UK has already turned their back on her. Having said that, I do still like her music. |

You're a man. I think that we know what attracts men to Britney, lol!
![]() I don't think that there's a man in her life at the moment. She's got to get her pleasure somehow!
