Is my current TV good enough to keep as the main TV in the house?
It's a Panasonic TX-32LXD70.
Since DSO it's the only working TV in the house. So if I want a TV for the bedroom my choice is either buy a new one for the bedroom or a new one for downstairs and take the old one upstairs. At the moment I have no HD sources, just Sky SD and DVD, and hope to get Sky HD fairly soon. So is the old Panasonic good enough to keep on when I get HD sources? The best thing about it is it has good sound quality, and since I don't have room for separate home cinema speakers I don't want buying a new set to result in downgraded sound. |

It depends on the size of your main room and how far you sit from the TV. For HD viewing ideally you shouldn't sit further than about twice as far away as the size of the screen, but this of course depends on your eyesight and what you feel is a comfortable viewing distance.
As long as your TV has HDMI sockets, or at a minimum DVI, it will be fine to work with HD sources such as Sky HD. HDMI would be preferable because you can get both sound and video through that, DVI is video only so you sold have to find some other way of getting sound from the Sky box to the TV or sound system. |

Why not buy Freeview boxes for the TVs that stopped working at DSO? Much cheaper.

Hoping for decent sound is a different matter though! |

Yes, you may have to factor in a soundbar or something like that. Make sure that it will work with your selected tv.

I would say buy smth that has an outstanding picture quality. I am currently using an LG LM760T and will recommend it to you too. It has very beautiful and slim design with almost zero bezel that it will definitely decorate your living room. Also it has good sound quality too.
