Unfair competition really. I take back what I said about Joe McElderry, this is quite different.

his voice is too classical, nasal, shrill and "lispy" for the part .....you need a "rock" voice

He also didn't break out into song and dance at regular intervals (I presume). If you can't suspend disbelief occasionally, musicals really aren't for you.

Not that I'll be watching anyway, Jesus Christ Superstar is an awful musical.

Well considering he can't ask Jesus directly, I don't think this scenario will be happening anytime soon!! BTW wouldn't he have to ask another 3 'jesus' to play the remaining 3 parts or have you not really thought this through properly???

Jonathon doesn't have the gravitas, and like you I find his voice too thin. He is a very light English tenor (I know he is English by nationality) and his attempts at Italian opera grated too.
