I have looked but cannot find a thread. I have a Samsung Smart TV and I cannot find the newly released ITV catchup app.

Has anyone else seen it?

Nah def not alone there. Lots of Samsung smart owners (all models) are asking where the app is. Should have been released/available from yesterday (7/7)

How odd that an ITV app has been reported. I wonder what it was all about. Thanks for the info, I will stop looking.

I do Hope Samsung are wrong. I would love to have on my 3 D Samsung TV, ITV Player and the BBC Iplayer. Just wish that I like You, get 40d and 5. I do have the BBC Iplayer on my TV.
BUT My Sky box will get the BBC and ITV catch up service later this year.

According to a reply on the link, Samsung are waiting for the ITV player license agreement (whatever that may be)

that's great! Samsung pushing the responsibility onto ITV now.
This is typical for Samsung!
The same thing happened when Lovefilm stopped working on my Samsung BluRay player.
I took both companies over 6 months to fix the problem which I'm not convinced they have by now.

I wouldn't hold my breath! The other problem will then also be (I hope not) that only 2012 tellies are supported. But how can they expect someone who bought a smart telly in 2010 to buy a new one? It's not a phone after all!

I've been hearing that some of the 2012 tv's are having trouble with BBC iPlayer and the LoveFilm app?

Interesting, what sort of problems?

Back to the ITV situation, unfortunately, no ITV app for me on my 2012 6800 series. I am also hoping for a 4oD app, probably more than the ITV as 4oD have just stopped Airplay from working. Now, I have no way to get 4oD working on the main living room TV unless I plug my laptop into it which is too big a hassle to bother.

I have the 55d8000 model. The last update i got last month was online only, not via the tv. Not sure if it is still the same now though. Here is a link to the lastest firmware. Just check the samsung webpage for your model number.

Avforums also said that there was a bbc sports app available, but that hasnt shown up yet either.

ue40es6800. The BBC Sport App, iPlayer, as well as a Netflix and Lovefilm have recently become available.

But no ITV yet.

Has anyone had luck getting 4oD working on the browser. I get the message the browser is not up to date, but of course there is no way to update it.

I find the browser next to useless, although it could be better on the 2012 models but I doubt that

Sadly it is far from perfect. What is stupid about it, at least for me, is that being a browser on a television, one would expect them to at least keep things up to date enough that videos would play. It does allow Flash, but so few sites actually work.

agreed but that's Samsung for you. I find it easier to connect my laptop to the tv and watch 4oD and Demand 5 that way.

^^ Year, but then you need to either kneel over the laptop, whilst booting it, starting the browser, navigate to the show, play and set to full screen. Or, do it on the sofa with a really long HDMI cable that cost more than the laptop.

Maybe when Mountain Lion comes out with full Airplay, it may be a little more sofa friendly.

Or a 4oD Samsung app, but I won't hold my breath. (Afterall, they just killed Airplay on their iOS app unlike all their competitors which have added it)

A new update for the 55d8000, 1024. Looks like it is only via usb again, 132mb. Dont have a clue what it is for this time. Hopefully it is for the itv player and bbc sport app at some point.
