Does anybody have any experience/comments about this unit: http://www.maplin.co.uk/pc-on-tv-wi-...-router-613191
I want to be able to watch films/tv in my browser on my tv. I have a BTBB "N" class router.
I can't find any reviews of this unit anywhere to find out if it does what it should without picture or sound quality problems.
It seems to me to be such a good idea that I would have thought there would be more of this type of unit available, but most will only stream what is stored on laptop.
I have seen a Q-Waves streamer which seems to do the same thing but in a different way (a usb dongle transmitting to a receiver which plugs directly into the tv), but have doubts about the range.
Any comments appreciated.

Dead link.

Either an HDMI lead or a VGA lead with headphone lead for audio are the usual options depending on what connections the laptop and TV have.

Thanks Gomezz. At the moment I connect via a HDMI lead. But I was looking for something to connect wirelessly, to save having laptop on the floor near the tv

What about this one which is probably the best known and mostly widely used device of its kind?

I have looked at this but, as with all media streamers, I think it only streams what is stored on laptop.
I am trying to find something that duplicates laptop screen so I can watch whatever is on my browser.

If you have an Apple TV you can run a program called Airparrot, which works on both Mac and Windows and this will mirror your laptop screen to your TV. Unfortunately Apple TV costs £99 and one licence of Airparrot is $9.99 (£6-7).

Apple TV can also stream from iPad etc. without requiring additional software and has a built in Netflix app. I'm not aware of any other media streamers being able to mirror whatever your computer screen is showing.

Thanks for the reply daveetwo.
I had seen the ezair but did wonder about the range. I would be in the same room about 12 feet away. Does it have to have line of sight access? Also when watching online video in your browser, do you get a full screen picture on the tv.
