Likely to be around Sept/Oct.
I don't think it needs anything else. It does a good job of what it's designed to do. The might swap it to the iPhone 4 case design and up the camera and chip spec. |

Decent built-in speaker with some volume, and up the volume through the headphones as the 4th gen I have is piss poor.

I think the built-in speaker should be improved but apart from that I can't think of any other features. Maybe improve the battery life a bit more as the battery life on mine drops really quickly when I'm playing games or browsing the net on it.

I love my 4th gen. The retna display is awesome. But I'm getting a 7" tablet for media rather than a new iPod. I expect the new one will have a better cam and CPU. Bigger screen maybe?

I'd suspect the iPod Touch 5 will be the 4S just with the cheaper display panel and slightly worse camera you usually get on the iPod.
I also have a feeling the Nano and Classic will be going to the iCloud in the sky, I honestly fail to see why anyone would buy the current Nano its dreadful for the price. |

Id say the 5 will be 5" just like the Galaxy 5. (or 4.6" to be closer in real size)
With no GPS or SD slot, but with the 4 core + 4 core SOC. The new SOC will probably cost Apple $20 maximum so it's a smart move. If they add game buttons then they will keep the 4 core for 9 months time. |

the iPad mini would be awkward to carry around in your pocket. If that's gonna be the case I might have to upgrade to an iPhone once my current iPT dies.
