HDMI via home plug
Is it possible to plug an HDMI to ethernet converter (single cable variety) into a home plug to get an HD picture in another room wirelessly?

No. You can only use physical cable with HDMI to ethernet converters.

There are a number of wireless hdmi senders available now as an alternative. Not cheap though.

They normally say up to 25M but that's under ideal conditions. ie nothing but fresh air between the sender and receiver ![]() Could be fine to syt get a signal to ceiling mounted projector in the same room. |

That is why it won't work. Oh and technically HomePlugs are not wireless devices either. They carry the Ethernet signals over the mains wiring. So just substituting one type of wire for another.

It's not converting to Ethernet. It is converting to a connector format compatible with the CAT5 cable and RJ45 connectors commonly used to carry Ethernet signals.
