I had a Spectrum 48k and there were certainly some classics on that, Target Renegade, R-Type, Rainbow Islands and Gauntlet. Plus games like Populous, Sim City and Zak McKracken.

Mid 90s - mid 00s
Starting with PS1/N64 etc and ending wit PS2. I love my PS3 and 360 but I found the other two generations much more fun. Too many sequels amd CoD clones this generation. |

90s for the SNES, gameboy and mega drive.
1999 onwards, for the PC Once i played Age of Empires 2 multiplayer on its release back in 1999, ive just not been able to get back into any single player game. Consoles have never excelled in multiplayer games. Will have to see if the PS4 is any good, i said the same about the PS3 before its release. |

I'd defo say form 87-97 was epic for me. |

I have loved gaming from 1979 until now with all gens producing something golden.
The late 70s was dominated by the early pong type affairs with paddles and a variety of sports games - basically a dot getting whacked by other dots - most fun when your tiny ![]() That progressed on to the atari 2600 with classics like Combat or fancy lookers like Pole Position My computer of the 80s was the Commodore 64 - Ghosts n Goblins late at night at my nans is something I will never forget and I love it to this day. Little computer people was another that I would play for hours. I remember waiting patiently for Outrun to come out and buying it in Boots the chemist. I loved the Amiga for most of the 90's and tied that in with the Sony Playstation for the latter 90's Gran Turismo 2 is still my favourite car game of all time, mainly due to the sheer amount of cars, in modern times we seemed to be subjected more to 13 types of supra bringing up the totals. The Amiga gave me Monkey Island for a start along with Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge, The best version of R-type, Eye of the beholder, Pang, Shadow of the beast 2 no matter how glitchy it is I still love it. I was a working man and Rich by the mid 90s and have pretty much bought anything mainstream (and a couple of oddities -gp2x et al) that came out during that time both handheld and console though I must admit apart from the GP2X I have never been a handheld fan and havent bought any since the advance DS due to being bored by them all. The Xbox Mk1 was a bit of a let down, nothing ever really grabbed me on it though it had the likes of Forza and fable which kept me busy for a while, PS2 had a couple of good games though nothing again drove me wild, I generally found that weird asian titles and shoot em ups were more fun on the PS2 Gran Turismo 3 was cack and 4 was better and more along the lines of 2. I bought a launch Wii (what a waste of space that was) tried all kinds of games on it but its really a console designed for kids or tards not a favourite at all really. I have all the marios and other 'essential' titles but non kept me interested for more than a few hours. The 360 has had a few good titles and the PS3 is a home hub, delivering gaming and media centre all in one. My PS3 gets battered the most at the moment, though a lot of the time its to stream stuff off my PC or watch Iplayer or something. GT5,Skyrim and COD usually see a fair bit of action. I do enjoy the modern era of gaming and the total immersion you get from the consoles that do everything. If I had to choose one console and one game for my desert island though it would be the Xbox 360 and Oblivion. I spent 5 years playing Oblivion almost daily, so pinning down to one era alone (although all the others were Magical) I would say the 5 years with Oblivion - Skyrim has yet to prove its worth to me though I have only put in about 40 hours so far

Mid/late 90s to early/mid 00s. So many good games on a variety of platforms. No multiplayer gaming for me at the time though, so I would say that is a negative. There were also a lot of totally sh!t games during that ~10 years as well though.
