Got to be Star Wars.
Althoughi dont dislike it it's the fact G Lucas has released so many versions. Digitally mastered, THX remastered, SpecialEdition, the list goes on and now 3D reboot. It's like the guy has had 1 idea and just can't let it go.

I'm a huge fan of mafia/gangster movies and I dont view myself as a family man at all. In regards to loyal and honourable, i'm sure a lot of people (not just mafia fans) would class themselves as so too.
nail on head!

I think films like Girl with the Dragon tattoo or Requiem for a Dream have the most potential for pretentious “fans” – who, to me, are people who don’t necessarily find them enjoyable but like to say that they are fans because they think it makes them it makes them look cooler or more intellectual. I even know someone who listed Requiem for a Dream on Facebook as a favourite film having never actually seen it.

Fans of Prometheus - apparently those of us who disliked it are "too stupid to understand it". That would be fair enough if it was true, but honestly, the story is dead simple. Unfortunately, so is the script and dialogue; so simple as to be ill-conceived and poorly executed.

You get that with a few films - I remember inception comments if someone didn't like that they were said to be too thick to understand it. Not that some people just could possibly dislike the film it must be something to do with the ability to comprehend the brilliance

I didn't mind the film as it happens but I felt sorry for those trying to swim the tide of backlash they were getting for disliking a film

The Dark Knight - you aint a fan til you cried over Heath Ledger's performance. Another 'in' film to adore that is actually rubbish.

Pulp fiction - nonsense, but was glamorous. You aint cool til you use some of the quotes from it.

Well no. If a word has a meaning but what somebody is trying to say means something entirely different then it's important to point out the misuse of the word.

Went to see The Road when it first came out with my friend. At the end I said I thought it was rubbish and he accused me of "not understanding it"

Fans of Tarantino flicks. Sick of em using every excuse under the sun to try and explain that he does not rip off other films, but pays homage to them, and then goes onto say he is one of the most dynamic and original film-makers around.

... The Hobbit.

Anyone who talks about these films and uses the words 'the book' at any point, should be shot.

So all the Tolkien scholars/purists around the world as well as The Tolkien Estate and Christopher Tolkien and those involved in the production of the film especially the trio of Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philipa Boyens who will certainly be referencing the book in the lead up to the release and beyond shot be shot... right.
