Someone's pet rabbit gone awol...

This morning my partner was putting the bin out and he saw a white fluffy rabbit bouncing and hopping around under the neighbour's car. I looked out and saw it too, very cute. What's the chance of it being eaten or killed by a cat before the owner discovers it's gone awol. I've been worried about it but it seemed to have disappeared by the time I got ready and went out. Hope the owner found it.

I would be more concerned about foxes. If you see it again best try and grab it because it doesn't stand much of a chance otherwise.

More likely to be run over, caught by a dog, or caught by a fox than a cat - though, it pretty much depends on the size of the rabbit. My cats are very wary of one of my rabbits because she is a rabbit with attitude. Serious attitude.

Or, sadly, there are human predators who will think it's funny to abuse an animal like that - which doesn't have the defences that a cat or dog has.

There's a totally uplifting tale on Rabbits United about A Girl Named Trevor who is a rabbit that someone removed from ****** who were seen kicking her around. Despite suffering spinal damage from the abuse, her new owner is rehabilitating her and the determination both the owner and Trevor are displaying is fantastic.

have to agree if a dog catches it it will probably kill it if not restrained. I'd be most worried about foxes though

Not seen it again. Hopefully it was caught alive by the owner.

This is a simular deal to how I got my Rabbit actually, He escaped from his owners garage where he'd been abused and starved by them (Smart bunny actually, He probably wouldn't be here had he not had the wits to escape), he got into a friend of my brothers, parents garden (They lived two doors down and knew that he hadn't been treated well by looking at him, he was skin and bones according to them, hes a chubby imp now haha) and they took him in, they fed him and kept him safe while they looked for an owner, they had a cat so couldn't keep him.

So, my Brothers friend asked me and I'd been wanting a pet since I lost my Yorkie a few years prior and took him in, I'll have had him a year on the 31st of July and hes my whole world. I named him Jeffery, he responds to that now. Maybe he never had a name before but he knows his name now.

So I hope either his owners (hope they are good owners) have found him or someone kind took him in because Bunnies can be lovely trusting animals. Mine is, that is when he isn't karate kicking me in the face or scratching me when I attempt to pick him up lol, but I know he loves me when He licks me on the face after a feed lol.
