(EE) Using music in scenes? good or bad?

I love when they do this, they did it on Janines wedding and yesterday with AJ listening to his music?

I don't know how to explain the feeling but it was good!

Does anyone like this aswell?

now and again its good to hear but wouldnt want it all time like H&A/neighbours. i also think the use of incidental music can be really effective at times

I don't think it works well in soaps like EastEnders and Coronation Street. It works in the US and Australian soaps, as well as Hollyoaks, but I think it feels unnatural in the other three; especially Eastenders.

Agreed. It just confused me and didn't really set a tone at all. If there's no purpose for the music, then why is it there? Think they should scrap it and go back to how it was.

pretty much hate it, the show isnt exactly hard to understand as it is, i dont need music to tell me 'you should feel happy/sad/excited now' etc

EE and some of the other soaps have been using music which ties in well with the scenes for years.

Ok it isn't normally played over the scene as it is in soaps such as HO but if you listen carefully to the radio, jukebox etc during certain scenes you'll see that the song playing in the background really goes well with the scene.

Not always may I add. But i've realised this on many occasions. x

i wasnt keen on it - but the other option would have been for him to bounce his head?? i dont think they should use it a lot, and it does stand out when they do use it....

It really annoyed me for some reason. Maybe because it was constant throughout the episode, once would have been fine but pretty much everytime we saw him it happened. Irritated me.
