That just shows you're connected via IPv4 rather than IPv6?

Don't worry about IPv6 yet.

Tests and explanations here http://test-ipv6.com/

It's unlikely to have anything to do with your current problems

Have a look at the answer I received to a problem here, also concerning IPv6

for your IPv4 stability and readiness, when publishers offer both IPv4 and IPv6

for your IPv6 stability and readiness, when publishers are forced to go IPv6 only

No IPv6 address detected [more info]

The World IPv6 Launch day is June 6th, 2012. Good news! Your current browser, on this computer and at this location, are expected to keep working after the Launch. [more info]

Your browser is blocking the test urls. We will try alternate methods, but they may fail to show your IP address; and may affect the quality of the advice given. [more info]

The most likely cause is NoScript or AdBlock+. NoScript can be told to permit all scripts on this page (you may need to do this more than once). At minimum, permit the urls listed below. [more info]

Your browser blocked http://[2001:470:1:18::114]:80/ip/?callback=?

You appear to be able to browse the IPv4 Internet only. You will not be able to reach IPv6-only sites.

IPv6 connections work, but connections using DNS names do not use IPv6. For some reason, your browser or your OS is not doing IPv6 DNS 'AAAA' lookups. [more info]

Your DNS server (possibly run by your ISP) appears to have no access to the IPv6 Internet, or is not configured to use it. This may in the future restrict your ability to reach IPv6-only sites. [more info]

Test with IPv4 DNS record
ok (0.803s) using ipv4
Test with IPv6 DNS record
bad (0.388s)
Test with Dual Stack DNS record
ok (0.623s) using ipv4
Test for Dual Stack DNS and large packet
ok (0.440s) using ipv4
Test IPv4 without DNS
ok (0.425s) using ipv4
Test IPv6 without DNS
ok (0.603s)
Test IPv6 large packet
bad (0.024s)
Test if your ISP's DNS server uses IPv6
bad (0.210s)

Am I ready for the World IPv6 Launch?

Yes. This web browser (at this location) looks safe. You'll just keep using IPv4.

So is this like the analogue / digital switchover internet equivalent?

In basic terms, yes.

IPv4 can give a maximum of 4,294,967,296 addresses on the Internet. Since the Internet boom, we have nearly reached this number so we need another way to get more items on the Internet.

IPv6 is that solution, and can provide 3.4×10*38 (which is a lot!)

This won't really effect us home users, so you shouldn't have to touch IPv6 any time in the near future.

Are you losing wireless connection or the actual broadband connection? When the connection drops, check the connection icon down by the clock or the router status lights.

If you provide more info about your equipment and problem, someone may be able to help further.
