Worried about moving with my cats

Hi all,
I will be moving soon at the moment I live in a cul de sac I have a 14 yr old cat who has mainly lived either in cul de sac or near a road but when near the road she mainly stayed in the garden. I now have a 10 month old kitten who was a rescue kitten and has only lived in current house. When I move I will have a back garden but it a street house where traffic will be more than what is here now.
My concern is how to help my kitten deal with this ?

I am a bit more worrying as my eldery cat got killed by car last year which was in cul de sac so moving to busier location worries me
Both cats can be quite nervous .
Also I am concerned on how to settle them into new home. Anytime I have needed to do this before my parents or partners have helped but in this house it will be just me.

Thanks

Hi

I'm afraid I can't offer advice as I have house cats but this forum of which I am a member is very good for advice.

Is there any way you can make your back garden an enclosed space and only allow your cats in the back garden? I lived in a terraced house with a back garden but the front was straight onto the road, the cats only went out the back and never the front, they never even saw the front road. Other than making them house cats (which if they were not previously house cats would make them unhappy) I'm not sure what else to suggest. I don't think you can teach a cat to avoid the roads. x

Hi thanks for replies,
The garden is being completely re done so hoping to make zones for them to explore as I cant make it fully enclosed. I think Im more worried with kitten as he is the one who was semi feral so likes exploring while my older cat is more whats going on , I dont like it lets sleep lol
