Didn't know where to post this but...

My Alba 19 inch HD tv won't seem to play dvds anymore and I was wondering if anyone knew why?

It happened around two months ago. Some dvds would like stick and make strange noises and then freeze halfway through the movie. I'd have to turn it on and off and then resume.

But for the past three weeks no dvds have worked at all. They go in fine but then the whole tv freezes and makes the sound like its buckling or something? I have no idea about technology!

Help anyone?

It will most likely require the DVD unit replacing, probably not worth while? - even assuming a replacement was available.

You could try a DVD cleaning disk but if that doesn't work then buy a separate cheap DVD player.

Yeah - I think I will try the cleaning disk. I think it's just broken.

Thanks guys!

I always tend to avoid buying TV's with built in DVD players because it is always the DVD player that fails before the TV.

I would try a DVD lens cleaner...

Yes, it's pretty rare to see one come in where the DVD still works - and to replace the DVD assembly is usually silly money (considerabl;y more than buying a decent BD player).
