Rni 6070
For the past few evenings have been listening to old recordings of RNI from the early 70's. 6070 khz in the 49 metre band is the happenning place and the signal has improved recently, it is quite reasonable here now. Really enjoying hearing these old shows once again. Hope the broadcasts continue and according to their website, something is going to happen.

Receiving it here too, in spite of all the local interference it is punching through quite well I am pleased to say!

Thanks for that. I will listen
I have just finished compiling a CD of old RNI recordings from internet downloads. It was a great station. |

It certainly is.
What a great piece of music. According to the announcement, this station will open very soon, I wonder how soon that will be. |

Good reception for a 750 watt's SW transmitter. Nice old recordings from Caroline in the 80's these days.

As I don't have a SW receiver I am not able to listen on 6070.
Do the SW transmissions on 6070 have any connection with the existing online RNI? If not, is there a web site associated with these SW transmissions... And does it offer streaming audio of the 6070 feed? Any idea where the SW is located? Sounds interesting. |

Audio is a little bit overmodulating.

Anyone who wants to listen but does not have a shortwave receiver can now listen via websdr. http://websdr.ewi.utwente.nl:8901/ Just type in the frequency, select AM, bandwidth around 6.5khz and hey presto, there it is, you're in full control. More interesting than clicking on a stream. |

Thanks Mike.
I've been listening to AFN Frankfurt via the Dutch website and interestingly ( I thought ) an English radio amateur on 40 metres talking to another in Germany. The skip was too long for me to hear him on my radio here in Mid Wales but he was putting a great signal into the Netherlands. The opposite applied to the German, not much signal in the Netherlands but strong on my SW radio.
