Neither was I but that's what Annsyre seems to be saying in post #99.

I always thought the dosh he made in office came from dodgy property deals funneled through a shady expenses system personally.

You should look at the South West, there's not much popularity for Labour or Blair over here.

If there was a good fee involved, Tony Blair would take a job advising David Cameron

I said no such thing - I said that he got a lot of money from bankers. I made no reference whatever to time or place.

For your information

In January 2008, it was confirmed that Blair would be joining investment bank JPMorgan Chase in a "senior advisory capacity"and that he would advise Zurich Financial Services on climate change. Some sources have claimed that his role at JP Morgan will pay more than $1m a year. This additional salary will contribute to annual earnings of over £7m.

There's not much popularity for Labour in the South West no matter who's in charge, the SW is an electoral law unto itself! As for everywhere else, afaics, the average Labour supporter, although as displeased about Iraq as everyone else, was fairly happy with Blair as a leader. Many Labour members couldn't stand him and many floating and/or casual Labour voters approved of him greatly. Therefore, Miliband getting Blair on board is a good idea, proves Labour is not being taken over by a load of left wing nut jobs.

Blair - a $1million per year advisor on climate change, fancy that! There really is no end to his talents.

I look forward to next PMQs when Milliband attacks bankers. Pure ammunition for Cameron to use against Labour. This is just gold! Don't tell Gordon, he may try and sell Blair at the lowest price possible.

In your opinion of course,
But some of us haven't chosen to conveniently forget the 'fact' that at the last general election Labour were so unpopular with the electorate that the Tories were swept to power with a huge majority and subjected Labour to a crushing defeat.........

OH wait.... I remember now, The Tories are SO despised by the electorate that, even after what is generally accepted as the most unpopular Labour government in living memory, They (the Tories) FAILED to win with a working majority (against GORDON BROWN!!! talk about an open goal?) and had to go cap in hand to the limp dims in order to cobble together this utter shambles of a 'government'

and Tory supporters actually believe they stand a snowball in hells chance of winning the next election outright,

I think the word is appalled, not envious.

If Tony Blair became Labour leader again, Labour would win the next election.

I'm an ex-Labour voter who voted Tory for the first time in my life at the last election. Why? - Gordon Brown and his team (Ed Balls and Milliband, etc.).

More likely it would put voters off. Let's not forget our previous Government that started arse-kissing America, during Bush's time in the White House and taking part in illegal wars.

Those were the 'illegal' wars the Tories backed 100% at the time, yes? The idea Iain Duncan Smith wouldn't have done exactly the same things Blair did is laughable.

Why are Labour bringing Blair back?

He isn't that liked among many people. Awful decision.

I despise the Tories just as much as Labour. Both parties are a disgrace.

What is this sabotage? First they fail miserably at making an opposition to the coalition just when the country needs an alternative and now they get Blair back in? Its like they don't want to be elected. Reminds me of when the Republicans put up McCain and Palin up against Obama, clearly no intention of winning. I guess some things are just decided for us. At this rate we'll have more coalition government and more shirking of responsibilities from those in power both parties blaming the other for their lack of representation of the electorates interest

There has been talk of an unnamed Shadow Cabinet Minister saying that this is a bad idea? Do we have any idea who this may be? I was thinking it might be from the 2010 intake.

Milliband is right to be doing his own thing and is growing. Any turn back to New Labour would be a big mistake and I think he is unwise to share a platform with Blair.
