EE - New Characters (AJ)

ok - i'm a bit of a grumpy and dont like any new characters....! i dont warm quickly to them

eg i didnt like Michael when he came on to the square, (still not keen) Fatboy - i found really annoying....

however, i do like AJ - so i was wondering how do other people think, do you like new chars straight away? or do they need time to 'bed in'?

I think I feel like you a lot of time. I often dislike characters on first sight, although I do tend to give it a while before making up my mind as I have often changed it after a few episodes/weeks. Case in point, Michael Moon. I absolutely hated him at first but now I find him interesting and watchable, if not actually likeable.

Fatboy on the other hand I hated, grew to like and have recently gone back round to hating him again. As for Derek, I won't even say how I feel about him.

AJ is a rare character I have pretty much liked right off, apart from the coin tossing thing which is irritating. He's funny though and a decent actor so far.

I'm with Young-Free. But I also think my opinion depends on how 'hyped up' the character is before they come into it. If we spend months hearing about how great a character is (like Derek Branning) and they arrive and they're not at all as great as they've been made out to be, I'll hate them just that little bit more. AJ didn't get a lot of hype (not that I saw anyway, but after Derek, the Moon brothers and Eddie Moon's giant, hyped up entrances, I have stopped watching/reading promotional material) so he's not failing to live up to any expectations.

Some make an instant impression like Joey, AJ and Lauren, others take a while (like the new Lucy) and others just never make any impact at all (Tyler and Anthony Moon).

Lauren never did make an impression on me - I don't like her. As for Lucy, never will take to the girl; her body language just annoys me. AJ's fine and Joey's brilliant as for the Goons - big fail.

Shanice is Stacey's mini-me.

I like AJ and he brings out Massood. Love Lauren.

I don't like new Lucy.

Maybe that's Kat and Alfie's latest cheap scam.

Hair farming!

They take in assorted and unwanted waifs and strays, cultivate their shining locks, brushing them all the while, then hack 'em off and flog 'em darn the market.

Hair farming is an ancient and respected profession, Priscilla.

The Hair Farmers' Guild is one of the cornerstones of the City of London.
