New DMOL website

DMOL have revamped their site and appear to be releasing more information which is to be welcomed. However there is no mention of a 24/7 Food Network and they are still denying the existence of 193 & 194. www.dmol.co.uk

They made it like the Digital UK one, as I think they will be merging at the end of the year AFTER the DSO has been completed

Nice website.

But omission of 302 at the time of typing this at http://www.dmol.co.uk/channels/post_switchover

On this page http://www.dmol.co.uk/technical/technical_news , it's pre-switchover multiplex "3"

But I am stumped at this: NCNd - what's that (i.e. in the context of digital terrestrial TV, NCND has other meanings)?

Yes, I do not know what that means either

They also have a glossary where NCND doesn't appear.

I reckon it must be pop up MHEGs and Network must feature as one of the Ns.

Are you guys having a laugh? There is clue in the four words which are displayed just in front of '(NCND)'.

It stands for Network Change Notify Descriptor. Sometimes it has been shortened to NCD instead.

It helps the receiver to warn you about future frequency changes and the reason you may soon be missing channels in your line up and will need to retune when that happens. On some recievers it will do a retune all by itself. For a reported quote from the D-book see http://www.dtg.org.uk/dtg/press_rele..._201207p20.pdf

So a Mheg pop-up then?

It can be related to an Mheg pop-up. It depends if and how the manufacturer makes use of the NCND.

No, it's something that receivers have to support, it pops up in the receiver's own UI. The PVR-9200T does.

Dear Luis Essex,
The DMOL website did not state this when it went live earlier, or even still at 19:00 hours. Obviously someone is working late to iron out the issues (and someone from DMOL may be reading this thread).

And the DMOL glossary Ray alluded to earlier now has the term added to it- right as the first entry under "N".

Still got reference to pre-switchover multiplexes 1, 3, A, B, C , D (!)

You are right in that the functionality has to be implemented. It is optional whether of not use is made of the NCND to do this.

However, I was getting confused as I've been recently reading '‘Digital TV Group (DTG) response: Consultation on proposals for the reorganisation of the DTT LCN Listing and on changes to DMOL’s LCN policy" from May.

It does not have to be a pop-up though, it can just retune itself, (which is not very good on PVRs if at the same time the recording schedule is wiped).

Indeed. The 9200T has a pop-up, which if I remember correctly is a bit garbled-looking, but I think it gets the message across.
