I have a few ideas for names and am seriously thinking of buying some and parking them to generate a bit of income before sale and was interested to see if any other FMs have tried doing this.

Has anyone ever had much success buying and selling domain names? Can a living be made from doing this or is it just something to bring in a few extra pounds each month. Looking at sites like sedo.co.uk and 123 reg it looks like names are just being sold for whatever price people can think of with some in the thousands.

I guess if you can find that "niche" name or bulk of names then there might be the market out there but it still looks a bit hit and miss so far.

You are 20 years too late. I can't believe an individual could make much money buying and selling domain names.

Its not the domain names that make the money for those sort of companies but the hosting of the sites for £x/month

these days people register the domains they want as one of the starting parts of a project so the chance of hearing about a product and registering its name to sell back are very slim
