I want them to abolish theme weeks and let the contestants sing to their strengths.
Theme weeks just lead to the same, narrow song list we've had for years. |

Big Band week!
Dance Classic week - because dance music is so IN right now and has been for years - they could re-interpret some classics like Show Me Love or Rhythm of the Night Beyonce week? Pink songs week? Pink has enough styles of music while maintaining an overall sound to spread across different types of singers, plus she has a new album coming up and has been in the business for at least 10 years... Boybands and girlbands week? |

[quote=StratusSphere;59520482]Big Band week!
I totally agree, it sorts the rubbish from the classy ones who can adapt to all types of music. Remember how Big Band week was the making of Alexandra Burke. She did a stunning performance of Candy Man. Also, all ages groups watch the X Factor and their tastes should be taken into consideration and not just Rap, insipid pop and endless copies of Beyonce and the like. Variety IS the spice of life. |

If they do continue with themed weeks I hope they are more concrete about the songs allowed, some of last years choices were absolutely ridiculous.
Was it Tik Tok for Rock Week? |

Too bad they never got round to doing a Girls Aloud theme. Shame on you Simon
They definitely should do a Dance theme. Also maybe U2, Divas, classic rock (not just Queen), and maybe Lady Gaga/Bjork/Cher mix night with costumes

I say they do a shake it up week, where the act has to twist the song and make it different in a way... doubt it'll happen though

I agree that they should be able to do songs to their advantages instead of being pigeon-holed in a genre that they don't like and/or suit. I suppose it mixes things up though. Vague Theme weeks would be better, like how Little Mix started to shine in Halloween week because the basic brief was a creepy/sinister song instead of "A song by _____ only".
I'd love another Britney week though! ![]() And an X Factor week where they sing songs by former contestants to highlight what the show has churned out over the years. There is plenty of variety from quirky pop like Diana Vicker and Aiden Grimshaw, to diva pop like Leona, to R'n'B from Alexandra and JLS, and of course the soothing melodies of Steve Brookstein...
