Really shocked Florence hasn't had a number one before. I think her songs are incredible. Both albums are amazing and now she's on course for her first Number 1 with 'Spectrum'. Calvin Harris remix. Just a shame it's taken a remix to get her to number 1 but it's about time she got it. She deserves it.

Shocked You Got The Love never reached number 1.

A somewhat hollow victory as her own singles are superior to what is at best a decent not ground shaking remix but congrats to her if she does manage to make it as im a big fan.

How awful that her first No.1 will be for a terrible, terrible remix of a middling song.

To this day I still don't understand why Cosmic Love wasn't released as the lead/second single from Lungs. That could have been a massive no.1 ;_;

So pleased for her. The video is my favourite this year.

Totally agree.

I love Florence and her albums... but it's sadly predictable that it takes a crappy remix and DJ to get it to where her single deserves to be.

I take it though that sales of the remix will boost those of the original Spectrum/add to them similar to how American Billboard sales / different versions on iTunes work?

Avicii's remix is far superior to Calvin Harris's.

While I'm genuinely pleased Florence has finally got herself a No.1, I do prefer the original Spectrum by quite some margin. It was one of the best songs on Ceremonials and was probably my favourite song of last year.

I just find it really odd as she even has always had really great remixes of her singles much better than this im just surprised at its success its not even that good a remix for instance:

Rabbit Heart (Jamie T Lionheart mix)
Shake It Up (Benny Banssi Remix)

All are superior to it but it boosts her profile and album sales wer sagging and she does hopefully get the coveted number one and will be one of only a handful of decent artists to get there this year.

Well done to her but it is a bit of a shallow victory tbh as its mainly down to Calvin Harris why the song is doing really well in the charts.

Far better a remix of an original than a cover song though - never got into You Got the Love

. Sad that her biggest non remixed hits only got to 12 though - Rabbit Heart and Shake it out but well crafted, dramatic alternative pop with fantastic tunes are sadly not what the top of the singles charts are made of (apart from the fluke success of Gotye).

Although I like the remix, I do wish the original could have got to the top spot (of course in the current chart climate that never would have happened!)

But I'm still so freaking happy that Flo is going to have a number one!

I'm still gutted that "Never Let Me Go" charted so low. If any song of theirs deserved to hit #1 it was that one. I find a lot of what Calvin Harris does to be very samey and unspectacular. Just look at Call My Name, Only the Horses, We Found Love - all similar to one another. I'm really hoping Kylie bypasses him on her next album after working with him on both X and Aphrodite. Anyway, congrats to FATM.

Not strictly true. She CAN sing, it is just that you dont like the sound she makes.
And I sort of agree. I used to like her when she first came on the scene. but the more I hear her the less I like her, even though it is the sort of music I SHOULD like I actually find listening to her a bit depressing. Having said that I am actually really pleased she will get a number 1.

It's also a sign of an artist who's got some talent but is quite happy to sell herself short to gain fame. Doesn't bode well for the future musically if she's going down that route. How much of Ceremonials has already been released as singles? Not good.

Let me stop you right there Florence has always remixed her singles as far back as the original release of dog days this is a surprise to us all and totally unpromoted by herself or anyone so don't even start with this selling out crap

I quite like it, the "say my name" hook is very catchy. I've heard it quite a lot on the radio and there's been quite a lot of hype made about it online, so it's understandable it's selling well.

I think one reason for it doing well is the music video, it's amazing and it's gone into heavy rotation around MTV, I've seen it quite a few times on MTV Dance and Hits
