Firefox - search engine choice
I am running what I believe to be the most recent version of Firefox, and I have set the default search engine to Google, however when searching I have found that it is using Google.com (so I am getting American answers); I cannot seem to change it to Google.co.uk for the life of me - can anyone please help?

Copy the following into a file called google-uk.xml then put this file into the searchplugins folder within your firerfox profile
Code:
<SearchPlugin xmlns="http://www.mozilla.org/2006/browser/search/" xmlns:os="http://a9.com/-/spec/opensearch/1.1/">
<os:ShortName>Google UK</os:ShortName>
<os:Description>Search Google UK with "the web" selected - includes Google suggest</os:Description>
<os:InputEncoding>UTF-8</os:InputEncoding>

From what I can see......
google.co.uk is not even listed in the Manage Search Engine List>Get more search engines. When the search results appear (and if they seem to be US based) I just click on the option "The web Pages from the UK" |

anniebrion, you did it again - thank you
![]() I wasn't sure about using the code you posted, and didn't want to mess things up, so used your link - I then found an add-on for firefox which let me add the UK site to the search bar (which in turn adds it to the right click, drop down menu). Cheers
