This was a great opening episode but for some reason it seems like it didn't make as much of an impact as I thought. They needed to give more details of the twist away to the viewers to be able to fully understand it. See you on Sunday!
Can't wait up for the feeds so going to sleep and will flashback in the morning and avoid all spoilers until then. Should we start a live feed events thread where we post flashbacks of key/funny moments in the house? |

im really confused! so is the show not on every night:S:S? whats HOH and what can that make them do and is there no public vote at all? is there like immunity challanges and can they discuss noms :S:S too many questions !
HoH competition/Eviction is Thursdays Noms is Sunday PoV comp is Wednesday HoH = Head of House they are the only person who nominates and must choose 2 people to go up for eviction. Evictions are decided by a vote from all the HM's Noms = well nominations ![]() PoV = Power of Veto, similar to the "save and replace" thing we had a couple of years ago. It's a competition for the nominated people and a couple of chosen others to win a chance to remove themselves from the nominations list and force the HoH to replace them with another HM. |

There's sometimes voting on the web-site about small elements of the game, like what the punishment food it to be. And they had an Americ'a Player once where the public voted on his actions. |

Pretty standard first episode of the season really. Nothing spectacular, but BB launch nights are so formulaic that it doesn't really matter.
I really think that this is going to be a good season! The cast seems really strong, and everyone seems like they could bring something! I felt so bad for Jodi, but she wasn't somebody who I felt devastated to lose.Good start all in all, but Sunday is when the season will actually start anyway!

BBUSA1 had public phone voting, but an HG's rich mother organised mass phoning-in so it wasn't done again.
I know that voters tended to vote out the stronger personalities who caused conflict and the result was that the remaining cast was pretty boring to watch. The ratings were not what they would have liked and the show was at risk of not being renewed without changes. |

Someone told me today that the veto competition in real time is today, so does that mean we have to wait 5 days for it to be shown? That would mean to avoid spoilers I'd only be able follow live feed one day a week (after the eviction).
Thursday - Live eviction & HoH competition. Friday - Have/Have Not Competition/Nominations Saturday - Veto Competiton Monday - Veto Ceremony/Replacement Nominations It's a highly frustrating schedule if you want to watch the show spoiler free, but I think they need to get as many of the variables out of their way as early as possible so they know how to edit the weeks episodes. ![]() I'd imagine once the first real eviction is out of the way, they'll fall back into the standard cycle. |

I like to watch the veto with the excitement of not knowing what will happen, it would help if they either put the veto on the live feed or spread out the events better so they are much nearer to the actual HLs. I don't see why it is so hard for the editors to do a good job in a couple of days. Big Brother is a live event after all.

The Sunday show is jam-packed as it is. They need to film a food competiton, nominations and a massive amount of diary room footage before the Saturday afternoon. They film the food competition at Friday lunchtime, nominations Friday evening, and then lots of diary room narration for the eviction, HoH, pro-noms and then some post nom stuff. They already push nominations back as long as they can to give the HoH more time. (I believe Grodner has actually stated on a number of occasions that her one of her main irritations is that the HoH has less than 24 hours to make their nominations) I guess could quite easily move the Veto back until the Sunday, but I think the logic there is that nothing really changes between nominations and Veto, so it's fairer on the HoH to give them all of Sunday to make their post-veto comp decisions, instead of having them spend Saturday with the veto result lingering over any plans they might have. |

Pretty Standard first episode, nothing too spectacular to be honest, however it does make a change from having to watch the HoH competition and immediately see the scheming of people, to ensure their safety.
I think the mentors was a great addition to this year, I am curious to see how they will play it out - I personally believe that a smart mentor should just ask their players how they are going to play their game and assist them in any way without revealing or interfering with the plans of any of their other players. Well until the inevitable midseason twist where the mentors get a bonus reward or become a houseguest (which I really hope doesn't happen) and have to start playing for themselves. *Calling it now: Mentors will be able to trade their mentor status (and immunity) to become a houseguest and and opportunity to win the prize fund* As for the new houseguests I can't see my self hating anyone at all, well apart from Willis, only because I think that his brother's shadow is going to dictate how he plays this game. But only time will tell. |

I don't know how it will work but I do hope the coaches become Houseguest because I just don't see it working with Janelle and Britney telling peeps what to do all the way up towards the finale. |

The editors don't have a couple of days though. They have around 24 hours to compile the footage, and usually less in the earlier weeks. The producers have made it clear in the past that they are aware that the current format isn't ideal, but it's not practical to change anything. The current format sucks for people who like to be spoiler free, but is the fairer for players and editors alike.
Frankly I don't really care about the food competition, it has no relevance to the game. And the DR narration where they often just state what we have seen is often not an essential part of the program. Veto is as important as HoH, for it not to be shown live either on live feed or on the show and just to be edited together doesn't exactly sound like it is an open way of doing things. And on a fast forward program they can actually fit a lot into one show, so they can do more if they want to. And they can also work harder during the week rather than just at weekends. So programs with time after them (2 or 3 days) for decisions. 1 eviction + HoH competition -time for HoH to think about nominations- 2 then HoH nominations +veto competition -time to decide on veto replacement- 3 veto announcement -time to think about eviction votes- |

I love how you just assume that the editors can work harder, like you have any idea what goes into putting together this programme. I think they do a damn good job personally. No offence, but all you seem to do is complain. Just get on with enjoying the show and stop fretting about things that are completely out of our hands.

No offense but you don't seem to like freedom of speech, and I'm actually being extremely constructive as well. And yes I know most in America won't question anything, until some Pandora's Box twist comes along lol.

What if the twist means a HG could swap with a coach so they get to win the 100k.
