I mean you never hardly see any of them do long shifts at work and yet they seem to be able to afford rolex watches, BMW convertibles, all the best outfits.

What do they do?

I hear they earn £50 a day being on the show but that wouldn't cover the cost of what they appear to buy all of the time?

It's not good entertainment to be watching someone working for more than a few minutes. Viewers want to see something that's engrossing.

I understand that but I wouldn't call blow drying your hair engrossing.

They'll get freebies now as well. Some things may be provided by the producers for television. I don't watch TOWIE but on Made in Chelsea, for example, Caggie doesn't have a Rolls Royce and a chauffeur to drive her around all the time.

Most of them have well off parents and they're all pampered little princes/princesses. TOWIE doesn't pay well in itself but many of the cast have gone on to make easy cash from PAs, other reality tv shows etc.
A friend of a friend has known Harry since he was a little boy and still speaks to him a lot. He's made a lot of money out of panto and PAs and reckons he's looking to buy his own house very soon, without a mortgage! And Brentwood isn't a cheap area!

Not everything in Katie Price's series is all go, go, go, but it's still interesting when she's getting her nails and other things done. I suppose I like the conversations she has when getting these done.

First off I would like to state....I don't watch TOWIE....BUT I get magazines nearly every week and there's usually an "exclusive" in there from one of them. I dare say they get paid for that, probably get paid for personal appearances when they are not filming, freebies etc

I know someone who owns a club and he has hired Joey Essex for a PA. He said that the TOWIE cast charge around £700 - £1000 per hour for a PA. Judging by Twitter, the cast are booked up for PA's most Friday and Saturday nights at clubs all around he country, and some of them even in places abroad like Marbella. Mario's Dad has always had a tailoring business in central London which is quite big and makes a lot of money, and Mario is involved in that too which I'm guessing is where he makes his money...along with PA's etc. Sam and Billie Faiers have their own business which thye had even before TOWIE and it's very popular...so that plus the PA's, magazine deals would end up raking them in a lot of money.

Did they have the boutique before TOWIE? A friend of a friend knows them and said Sam had a 'normal' job in a bank or something but I know she did glamour modelling on the side too.

They may have been looking at starting a business but Minnies opened after TOWIE started. It was the first of the businesses though, the others have all opened this year
