3 mobile network
Thinking of changing from Orange to 3. I have 3 phones in the family and 3 prices seem spot on.
Anyone comment on 3 network coverage? |

Its not the coverage that is the problem, its the network reliability. It drops calls a lot. (2-3 on average a day for me). This happens even in strong city centre coverage areas and will definately always happen in areas where they use 02 as their roaming partner. It has no open Internet access, just 3's own content and that can be pretty thin and for video stuff pretty expensive. Videocalls are a novelty feature and expensive also (80p/min to other UK mobiles).
If you live in a strong 3G area and can put up with being disconnected from time to time you can make savings with 3 but the price really reflects the quality of the network you can expect. I'm on my 3rd 3 handset and I only use it for leisure (cheap X/Net calls), I still have a proper GSM mobile for work etc. Why not wait a couple of weeks and see what Orange have available on their 3G service. They wont be cheap but they will have seamless switching between their GSM/UMTS networks and they will have lots of proper 3G benefits that 3 currently dont provide. |
