Foxsat-hdr failed to wake up and record

Just noticed that the box was in full standby and not recording channel 4.

Booted the box and it immediately started recording. Just checked the rest of todays recordings and none took place at all (not even 0 length failed recordings) although the schedule has updated to schedule the next epsiode of everything it has missed today.

Weird. It did its early morning house keeping as the web interface states:

Last housekeeping boot: Fri Jul 13 04:00:14 BST 2012

Anyone any ideas?

This happens to mine about once a year for some strange reason. The Humax is so reliable otherwise I have never done anything about it.

Have you set up the required short auto boot after housekeeping needed for the manual timers set for non-freesat to function. ?

I have a daily watch reservation set for 108 03:30-03:35.

For what it's worth my Foxsat HDR (non custom firmware) woke up about 10:30 today as if it was waiting for a recording, except I had nothing scheduled. Unfortunately I didn't notice if the clock was correct before it woke up.

I've just noticed also that I had New Girl series linked on Channel 4 HD, and the recording of the first episode stopped 8 mins in and the second didn't start at all.

No power problems that I'm aware of, although there was very heavy rain which could I suppose account for the failed recordings - not that I've seen rain fade on C4HD since the transponder change. edit: Actually, having checked the recording up to the point it ended, there's no apparent signal issues on the recording.

In addition to the above, I have no thumbnails on other recordings made last night, so I'm suspecting that the time signal information may have been incorrect for some period, resulting in the truncated & missed recordings and the HDR waking up this morning even though nothing was scheduled.

My best would be that it is down to channel 4 - CRID series error? Do you have accurate record set or padding?

I have padding set. The first show it missed was Top Gear USA on BBC Three at 7 PM.

In answer to an earlier question concerning non freesat timers, I do not use the non-freesat side of the box nor have I used the custom firmware to alter the freesat line up to add non-freesat channels.

My box used to do this occasionally. It was in the bedroom so was not used until the evening and the programme I would record was on in the afternoon. I decided to set a timer for the box to power up in the morning and turn off half an hour later. I have had no problems since.

I had this problem last week too, started on 13th July and lasted until a week later when I came home from hols and booted it up, nothing got recorded in the meantime. Missus not happy about missing her eastenders!
It was BBC1 and C4 it missed.

You get a good signal on channel 999? (freesat transponder)
