Maybe at first but i cannot see Merle sticking with the Governor for long once the gang (including Daryl) show up. He would never turn his back on his bro. As he said in S2 (when Daryl falls down the banking) "Blood is thicker than water".

Yeah, but that was in Daryl's mind.

Real Merle may have a change of heart when he sees the company Daryl's keeping - especially if Daryl chooses them over him.

In Season 3 there may well be a conflict for Daryl's "soul" (for want of a better word) between the Devil (Merle) and an angel (Carol)

Carol...urgh, i really cannot stand her and she's on my list of "don't care if they turn into a walker" along with Lori.

Also, did anyone notice Carl ? My god has he grown up, he looks so much older now. He needs to man up and help the group as he's also on the verge of dropping onto my "walker food" list.

Wifie is on my "walker food" list along with Hershel's whiny daughter who tried to top herself

Filler episodes are ine by me. I just love the show and think this season looks like it will be the best so far.
The pace is gonna be much faster than season 2 as more happened in that trailer than happened in the majority of season 2.
Really looking forward to it. Bring on October.

True. But we don't know how much Merle has changed since we last saw him in Season 1. So again, we'll have to wait and see I suppose. That's of course if Merle does indeed turn out to be a thug for the Governor. It could well turn out that Merle's with another group of survivors instead.

According to the Walking Dead Wiki, Merle is indeed in Woodbury

http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Merle_Dixon

Other sites back up that suggestion

Maybe it will turn out that he was part of Dave and Tony's group from last season and after the failed attack on Rick, Hershel and Glenn they ended up in Woodbury.

I cannot see it being anyone else
I believe there keeping Beth for other storylines & i think Scott Wilson (Hershal) is a regular this season.

Its also not T-Dog Daryll or Rick because we see them when Rick mentions blood has been spilt.

However it could be further along the storyline in relation to Beth.

I do wish they'd introduced the rest of Hershalls family from the comics. Along with other characters. Such a shame.

But if they had introduced all the characters from the comics then they might not have had room for original characters like the Dixon brothers.

Oh okay, thanks a lot. That's good to know. Hopefully, this will mean good character development/conflict for Daryl in Seaosn 3. With Shane gone, I'd like to see Daryl come into prominence now and take the vice-leadership role along with Rick.

BIB: You could be onto something there, Verence. You might be right.

Some people have been speculating that at 3.28 in the trailer - that zombie looks like Daryl!!! Personally I can't see it! Looks nothing like him! If it were true though - I've just lost interest in TWD.

Even if it was Daryl (which i don't think it is) why would they pop it in the teaser video where fans could potentially spot him as a walker and spoil a big story ?

This happened back in S2 when Andrea shot Daryl with the rifle as she though he was a walker (from a distance). In the episode before at the end (when you get the, next time on The Walking Dead) it showed Daryl coverd in blood and staggering around like a walker to make us think he's turned, as it turned out, he was not.

They would never show this before it actually happens.

Well Dixon brother really.

Yeah it's a good point. Its just knowing some characters that are missing you know some of the storylines involving them will never come onto the screen.

I'm not complaining. Just thinking out aloud!

They already have characters that they havn't got enough time to show a bit of. T-Dog & Beth for example.

Do you think they'll introduce the 4 prisoners from the comics?

That depends, I haven't actually read the comics so I don't know how integral those 4 guys are to the Prison/Woodbury/Governor arc
