Hi guys!
I've posted a similar message to this in another forum and i just wanted to put this question out there (with a tiny little bit of venting throwin in for good measure)

At the minute, the state of the music industry really annoys me.. i have numerous reasons for this, (Olly murs being one of them) but thats for another post..
I think i've spotted a massive hole in the market.. one that's been forgotten about, almost as if the desperation to make artists "edgy" and "relevant" has somehow diverted attention away from a a massive share of the market.

I'm talking about pop groups solely aimed at kids.. obviously this is not my particular taste in music, but when i was growing up (i'm 26) we had bands like steps and s club 7, the spice girls, westlife etc..
again.. i must reiterate, even as a kid, i wasn't really into these bands.. but i could appreciate that they were absolutely massive, they appealed to a huge array of people, but mainly targeted at kids,
It saddens me that kids these days have to look at artists like Rihanna or Keisha etc as role models, even the boybands these days want to sexualise everything,
Don't get me wrong, i'm in no way a prude.. i just think it's a bit sad that there's nothing really for kids.. no cheesy dance moves, or Blue Peter appearances, no awful christmas singles filmed in an artificial winter wonderland, (complete with fluffy clothes) ..
I think it's something we could all do with in a way..

Wasn't there an album which went top 10 recently from a kids TV show or something?

Very true - in my day growing up it was Bucks Fizz - and I still love them today!! Even though as an 8 year old I knew Jay was a naughty girl!

There is stuff for kids. Thing is Rihanna was for kids when she was 16, but she's not 16 anymore and has evolved. Destiny's child were around when I was a kid, and now I love Beyonce, I grew up with her. Same for the Jackson 5 and then Michael Jackson. Now it's 1Direction and The Wanted and Little Mix. They are there.

Stooshe
Nicki Minaj (does she use bad language though ??? - image wise anyway)
Jesse J
Cheryl Cole (new single)
Fun feat Janelle Monae
Jedward
Justin Bieber
Hot Chip
Carly Rae Jepsen
Big Time Rush
The Wanted
One Direction etc.etc.

All above would appeal to kids these days
This is what they're playing on 'Fun Kids' radio station http://comparemyradio.com/stations/Fun_Kids
Some tracks on there I wouldn't consider Kid's track's though - vocally anyway, the dancy back tracks perhaps.
