Coming to the end of my BlackBerry contract and am looking around for a new phone. Should I stick with another Blackberry 9790 or 9900 or upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S3 (good deal knocking around with £26 on T-Mobile)

I know that many on here will say go for the Samsung but a few questions.

1, Is the Galaxy S3 'too big'?
2. What is the Email app like on the Galaxy S3 and can I get Push Email like the BlackBerry (is there an app?)
3. How easy is it to transfer contacts from the BlackBerry to the Samsung?
4. Are there some decent cases for the S3 as I am worried that the screen could easily break.
5. What are the Facebook/Twitter apps like compared to the BlackBerry.
6. How easy is it to text/email using the Samsung.

I am sure I'll think of some more questions soon but the above six are good enough for now!

1.perfect size
2.yes there's an email app
3.backup contracts to your sd card, then import them
4.everyone got different opinions, check Ebay
5.better in my eyes, can roll them into the one app
6. Text easy as is email. You should get Swype or one of the free keyboards. download on play store and add it

Hope this helps

1. Subjective.
2. Push e-mail depends on the account you're using - there is push support for some accounts but not blanket support, only RIM offer that.
3. There will be a number ways of doing it, I'm sure some will be reasonably simple but can't comment from personal experience.
4. There'll be loads, probably second only to the iPhone in terms of choice. But unless you drop your phones regularly, you're not going to break it.
5. Not only are there official apps but there's a number of third-party apps (Friendcaster, Tweetdeck etc) if you don't like the official ones.
6. What do you mean? How easy it is to use a touchscreen?

I mean is it easier to text using a fixed keyboard or is a touch screen easier.

It depends, i much prefer a touch keyboard because i can customise it as much as i want and tailor it to my needs. So i'm not stuck with a keyboard with too many buttons/bad config. I use swype on mine sometime and other times i use smart keyboard pro which gives me a really clean look at predicts my words perfectly everytime i mistype them.

Plus the S3 keyboard is huge so if you have big hands its easier to type without pressing 8 buttons at once (i'm looking at you curve 9320...)

Touchscreen with Swype. You'll never go back to the quaint one key press at a time. However, I am slightly biased because I have a Note and Swype with the S Pen.

It's neither easier nor more difficult, it's simply different.

All you can really do is head down to a phone shop and try it for yourself.

I used Swype before and loved it. Then I have moved on to SwiftKey 3 and it's even better.

Both so much better than standard keyboards when you get used to them.
