Hi,

you have to get a little card reader box to attach to your PC which you then take the little black card from your phone and put it into the box then its a matter of drag and drop. they're quite cheap.

Ok, if you have the data suite and cable then it shouldn't be an issue as long as you have a big enough MMC for the file sizes you are using. All you need to do is copy your cd to your hard-drive, ensuring it converts to the smaller MP3 files or AAC. You would then connect the USB cable (automatic configures without software if using XP) and open the 'Audio Manager' supplied in the Nokia Suite.

You will have to tell the software where the files are by selecting browse, as soon as you do this it should be plain sailing with the on-screen prompts. I hope this helps

The nokia suite will rip music from your CDs.

I have a 6230, but i don't think you can have a data cable with this phone can you? Just use an external MMC reader, or Bluetooth is ok if you're not in a hurry

you should be able to use a data cable, all of nokias recent phones have their "pop-port" which is what the data cable uses to connect to USB on the computer.

not in a hurry. Bluetooth transfers data at a rate of 721 Kbps apparenlt.

Bluetooth or infra red dongles seem to me to be the sensible option rather than cables as they are compatible with other phones.

The USB data cable (DKU-2) for the 6230 is not compaitble with older "pop-port" phones and is the fastest way to transfer files to the phone without removing the MMC card.

I have tried to send an mp3 from my pc to my phone via bluetooth. But the phone keeps saying that i don't have enough memory space. However, i have over 30MB of space left on my memory card. the mp3 file is way smaller than this. Does anyone know how to fix this or change the settings some how, in order to fix this?

I have a cable + am draag/dropping files. Process appears succesful but then file drops from handset. Am trying to load 7mb size files. However when I hover over "music files" folder on handset it displays "MP3 32768 kb" ......does this mean a max file size ? (photos go both way so confident cable /software is ok).

Grateful for any suggestions

The space on the memory card isnt actually that much that 32768kb is all the space on it, You have to copy an mp3 at a time, then hover over the memory card symbol in the phone and choose 'move' so you can move the songs to the phone.

I don't know if it's still the case, but with early 6230s there was a bug that meant you had to rename the memory card in the phone, switch it off and back on, and then reconnect the phone to your PC before you could access the memory card directly from a PC without having to move MP3s from the phone memory to the card.
