I really can't understand why they are not repeated, we pay for Sky so why not purchase the rights to show them

Already been tried and failed

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sky_Soap

Also maybe rights holders don't want to sell, are asking too much or legal contractual complications

I have UPC but I can't find that feature at all. It's supposed to be available for all UPC customers, so how do you make it work?

i think its only avaible in dublin so far then slowly being made avaible across the country if you have it yet you should just hit the on demand button and it would work

Every episode of high road is on stv player. but its infuriating as you can't watch them in order. if you watch an ep from 1987 the suggested links are like 1994, 1997 etc

We don't need a channel devoted to soaps , just for them to be repeated

It would be a lot easier though. The channel could even make its own flagship soap, and new programs with best of and worst of soap clips, discussions, phone ins, interviews with soap stars, award ceremonies.

I feel like I've said this ten thousand times - I don't know why ITV hasn't shown Coronation Street and/or Emmerdale on either ITV3 or ITV4.

Classic soaps tend not to get repeated as it draws so many viewers away from present day shows.

Present day shows? Have you watched ITV3 or ITV4?!

I used to love watching the old Corrie episodes on the Granada channel.

It seem that only the old US soaps are shown now.

Would love to see Brookside re-runs on More 4

Netflix Canada has every episode of Corrie from 2006 and 2007. So if you can get NF Canada then there are over 500 episodes!

Because ratings were poor.

Total and utter fabrication.

They can't rate much lower than the constant repeats of Miss Marple, Poirot, Heartbeat and Rosemary and Thyme.

ITV 3 Definitely have room for old episodes of Corrie and Emmerdale - I've emailed in about 10 times asking for this

They get around a million viewers per episode, the soaps weren't even getting that. I agree there should be soap repeats but believe me it is NEVER going to happen.

That's because they showed recent episodes

What difference does that make?

Because it meant that they were a recent memory for viewers

If they showed older episodes they'd get good ratings

If you're talking about the soap repeats, the episodes of Corrie and Emmerdale they were showing were 10-20 years behind, hardly recent.
