This has been mentioned before, however the BBC press office site still states EastEnders will be on BBC1 at least on the Monday and Tuesday of the first week. It does conflict with the timings of the Olympics programming as well, so either they are slipping it in in the middle, or the press office site is incorrect.

So you expect the biggest sporting event in your life time, which is gonna be watched by milions worldwide, and god knows how many millions they spent on getting the games to london, which will put the country on the map.
You expect it to be put on a secondary channel, just because your beloved soaps will have to be changed, i like eastenders also, but there is no way, i can see why they would put olmpyics on BBC2. Except maybe if the news is on BBC1, and a final is happening. I guess its a dificult one, as the BBC, obviously have a big sporting event possibly the biggest in the world happy our country, but also have to keep regular viewers of shows happening. In a way its a pity ITV couldnt have shared the olmpyics, they could have, worked out a schedule then to have kept the soaps like the football. And i am sure even you most dedicated eastenders fans, will probably watch some the olmypics. |

The only thing staying on BBC1 is the news, since regional news can't be shown on BBC2 for various technical reasons I won't go into now.

Will Sky+ be able to keep up with all the channel changes or are we going to have to record in the old fashioned way ... set up every episode individually?

HAHA had to laugh at people asking why the olympics cant be on bbc2, im not a sport lover and im an eastenders fan but the olympics are the biggest event in world sport and we are hosting them, when it comes to the olympics even the great and good of eastenders has to be sidelined im afraid.

Because the Olympics is far more important especially as we're hosting it.
What's the hardship in pressing 2 instead of 1 ![]() As there's NO BBC2HD channel yet you can watch EastEnders in HD on the BBCHDChannel |

With the way Eastenders is going in its current state it would be better all round to drop it until the games are over.
