Camera shutter sound on Samsung E800
Is there any way to turn it off?
Even in Quiet Mode it still makes the irritating noise!! Thanks |

it is the same with the k700i, one might wonder why you are so worried about the phone making a noise when taking a picture on a problem if you wish to take pictures with out anyone noticeing.

No its not that at all...the noise is annoying and every other camera phone I have had has enabled me to turn it off.

turn off camera sound (and other sounds) by typing *#8999*8378#. The menu "Testmode" appears.
Choose 2 (H/W test), 2 (Sound settings), 1 (RX path). Its a little technical i guess. Alternatively you can alter settings if you have the Original Samsung data cable (inclided in some retail boxes) |

You could also press the side key to reduce the volume of the key's. This also reduces the sound of the camera shutter.

In Japan, a law was passed ensuring all camera phones made a loud noise when taking a picture or video, even in silent mode.
Stops perves, you see. |

If you want to be taking pictures without anyone noticing then you probably shouldn't be taking pictures at all.

Problem is that the best pictures are taken without announcement of doing so. The sound on camera phones tends to happen slightly before the capture. |

Anyway, there are ways, even if the function isnt enable in user GUI, to switch off camera sound. Like for example Panasonic GD87 - No function under user menu, right? Yep, but it doesnt stop it being switched off. Always a way round these things if you have a data cable for the phone in question.

Did you not read what I said before? I do not want to take pictures without people noticing, I am just irrated by the clicking sound that the phone makes when it takes a photo - I don't like it full stop
