What's going to happen to the sky go , on the Xbox then . Is that going to shut , I've been looking but no one is saying anything ?

If they provide a movie download service, just like AppleTV/iTunes do, they may get some of my money. It needs to be download as I am stuck on a BT only exchange getting about 2Mb/s, so video is not so great at that speed on an HD TV.

sky go and now tv are independent of each other. 1 is for sky subscribers the other is for none subscribers

How do you think NowTV will compete with the current pay and go services?

iTunes, Blinkbox, Youtube, Film4, HMV, Google Play and VerginMedia all offer pay and go options for films and then there are the subscription services of Netflix and LoveFilm.

I can see it doing well especially if they can get it on a number of platforms like Netflix and LoveFilm. Although as it is targeted at none Sky subscribers, getting high volume usage may be tricky.

hard to say how well it will do but with the unique selling point of the pay per view sky sports when that launches i reckon it could really take off.

PPV Premier League will be a huge selling point for it but it completely depends on how they price the live matches. I'm presuming it will be anywhere around £10 and up... depending on what team you support you'd be better with a monthly subscription. Fans of Man U for example wouldn't benefit from a pay-per-match scheme over a monthly sub especially during the run-in. It could work out a good deal for fans of 'lower' ranked teams though.

I'd be suprised if it was as high as £10 considering prem plus was £8 per match If its £10 per thats around £160 a month for 4 games per weekend per month.

It's not being marketed to people who would be paying individually for every match though. It's targeting the people who would be interested in occasional premium content but don't want the monthly sub or contracts. I don't think anybody in their right mind would pay per match for every Sky live game... those people are the ones they have a monthly Sky Sports sub for. For the casual fan I think £10 a match would sound about right because they can't go too low or people will flock from their existing subs in favour of this. Who knows though, it's all guess work until they release details.

i know its hard to compare movies with sports but they're offering all the sky movies channels for £15 per month on nowtv with is £1 cheaper than sky tv and about £20 cheaper when you consider that entertainment package has to be taken.

I'd expect something similar with the sports.

Anyone can subscribe to Sky Go. They offer monthly tickets for non existing customers. You don't need a dish.

That's why I'm still to this day confused by what's so unique about NOW TV. Is it on demand only or will live channels be offered as well? If the former then it sounds like a step back if anything.

Not when you use Netflix USA, it has a great selection of movies. And other people already do movie rentals such as Apple, Sony and MS.

Now Tv will not be be offering HD on Youview which is a massive fail. They wont be seeing my money until they offer HD with 5.1 sound.

Now TV price could split down the middle as 2 diiferent users can use it at any time,

so Mr A could be the customer but Mr B could split the costs with Mr A

If I wanted to get the latest movies and pay high prices I could pop to my local blockbuster and rent it there in far superior quality.

Very interesting. There was talk of BT's Football Channel being around £12 per month, so Now TV charging £10 per game may be a tad too much. Still, PPV EPL Football could and should be the killer reason for signing up for Now TV, if its priced right.

Not too surprised about the Movies package pricing on Now TV. Its actually 50p more than half of the Sky Movies package on VM so in that respect its not that bad.

But I wouldn't be too worried if I was Lovefilm or Netflix, their offerings are one-third the price in these financially challenging times. Lovefilm already offers PPV movies and Netflix has the streaming quality.

I'm thinking Sky may be a little too late entering the online market £15 a month is too much. You can get a unlimited blu ray rental with unlimited online streaming from lovefilm for £9.99 (correct me if i'm wrong on that) which will give you movies before they even appear on Sky movies. Unless Sky are including Sky box office in this?
One thing might go in skys favour is Sport and possibly WWE PPV events too if they're available on the Now tv service.
Sky should give 30 day free trial just like the other big players do.
