Q6 was pretty simple: If Chryed go, what happens next

And the answers were as follows:
I'll probably stop watching EE 36.9%
I'll keep watching EE 47.7%
I never watched EE, just Chryed 15.4%

So just under half will be left watching EE. Of course this wont translate up to the bigger picture at all, but from all the stories it does seem Chryed got a few people back into EE, but everything outside of Chryed maybe isnt enough to keep them watching. I wonder if this answer woudl have been different if asked a year ago before Derek Branning took over our screens? For me, whether or not I carry on viewing will depend on how they exit. If it's lame I'll be sp annoyed with EE I may never forgive them, but if it's a great, powerful well thought out exit, I may have some of my faith restored and keep watching to give some of the otyer stores a go.

Q7 was pretty much a ruse to ascertain the optimims/pessimism of the thread! Do you think we'll get a proper Chryed SL this year?

And it seems to be a pretty close run thing between optimism and pessimism, maybe just realism?

I'll be annoyed if they're just support again but I wont be surprised. I certainly cant see anything big happening until September, and we know that we'll lose Johnny for a bit in the New Year, so 2012 will have to pull someting pretty impressive out of the bag to save itself Chryed-wise!

If that. After last year, I'm not that keen on a wedding. Where's the build up? And then to have it squeezed, squashed and rushed in between all the other Branning, Mitchell and Moon s/ls, and neglected beyond belief? Nah, no thanks. It'll just be insulting tokenism.

While I think they'll probably get quite a lot of screen time as part of the Masood family SL, I do also think they'll get their wedding.

Now on to my 2 mean questions, making you chose either/or.

Of course for both of these it woudl be nice if both was a genuine possibility.

Frequent appearances, no real SL, but no blackholes 45.5% (30 people)

Interesting....and pretty close......of course at the moment, we have the worst of everything-looong blackholes inbetween tiny short appearances. Just marvellous.
An ideal world woudl see Chred get their own decent SL, but in between, still be seen. There's been tiny glimpes, Syed and his family, Christian with Roxy or Lucy, but they have been too rare. Their episode counts and the pitiful screentime they gety when they do appear, seems to pretty much have them bottom of the list with EE. NOT GOOD ENOUGH! I knw there may be reasns for the lack of Johnny, but that's no excuse to waste Marc.

Overwhelming majority and proof, like we dint already know, that we are all just silly fangirls oogling the 2 cute men. We eant dialogue, we want them talking, we wanted them treated equally, we want to know what they're thinking. There have been way too many occasions where we've had no follow up, had to fill in the gaps ourselves, and it's not really acceptable when other characters get endless screentime so you know every little thing they're thinking!

And as for the 12 that like the cuteness, and why not? They are pretty darned cute. They can of course be cute and talk (see eg DC week, proposal eps!) but you know, the world might end if that were allowed to happen!

3rd. Team Illness/hurt (4.77)
4th. Religious aspects explored (4.83)

6th. Joining the Walford community eg Football (6.29)
7th. Interacting with the gay comunity (6.86)
8th. More kids (fostering/adoption) (6.98)
9th. Business/money-making stories (7.15)
10th. Psychological problems eg addiction, depression (7.34)
11th. Relationship issues (8.31)

Some observations and thoughts...
Personally (IMVHO), I'm a bit gutted family drama came top, was no where near top of my list. I feel family drama is an excuse to include Chryed (then rest them) without really using/including them. The family stuff has got to a good point (everyone accepted) so I think, comedy aside, there's not much potentail there any more. And I'd rather they were NOT bit parts like they were in the Yusef thing. I'd like a Chryed story AND a Masood family story, but then I'm greedy!

The everyday life actually got the most votes in number one place (26 people) but I guess family drama edged it out with a higher overall rank.

Team Illness continues to polarise people, half of people had it in their top 3 choices!

Realtionship issues was by far the least popular. Presumably becasue most people, like me, took this to mean splitting up and/or cheating. 2/3rds of people ranked it in their bottom 3 choices. More kids got the 2nd most last place votes! Shame on you EE, had you handled last years' baby stuff and the 2 break ups/reconcilliations better (at all :sleep, we may not be so adverse to them now!

The one spoiler we have hints at business troubles and relationship issues ( though hopefully not a massive fight, more of an everyday one). Not exactly high on our list!

We shall see. As ever we are waiting.................

I agree with you re the family drama....I actually think this is quite boring on the whole the only things I'd really be interested in seeing re family is integrating Christian within the Beales more, establishing the Clarkes as a family unit (Linda and Jane returns ftw) and showing more of Christian's relationship with Syed's family. not really fussed on anything else family-related. I think everyday life topped my vote cos I just think this is the most important thing right now, to see them more consistently on screen in just normal scenes.

BIB - I agree with that, it reminds me of how underused Syed was during the Yusef storyline in December and how underused Christian has been in new Lucy's storyline. I'd only accept 'family drama' if it really did involve Christian and Syed lots and lots.

Personally, I'm on team illness / injury - nothing perminant :sleep: - because it was cause drama and angst without needing any kind of cheating storyline or Christian VS Syed storyline.

I'm not sure either, but seem to remember some debate around this when Yusef turned up in that EE seemed to have changed it? There was some reference to Zainab and Yusef having been married for like 4 years or something which was way longer than we originally thought - I think I have a memory of someone working out Zainab and Masood can't have been married until she was 20/21 or so.

oooh I forgot that it was Billy's red button ep tonight. I'm actually really looking forward to it and hoping that Derek doesn't make a random appearance!
