At least the radio station running the poll might now think about adding her to their playlist!

We can but hope..even the Sun has finally got a snippet about Cher.. even though it was a re hash of the goldfish story told many many moons ago.. with a grudging recognition of Chers no.5 position.
Hope Cher does'nt call em Divvy sh!ts when she comes back from her US conquest..

hurrah!!”

I only just found out!

Still great she's going back. Still can't get over all the postive comments she gets there .If any fans turn up at stations doubtless some will claim they've been paid en masse. Idiots

Why's the goldfish thing surfaced now? Thought that was a year old

Ah divvy shits, happy memories. there was also the priceless invitation at the same time I believe to insert some comments in an unconventional way. I think her minders edit her a tad now, or she does herself.

Still I always did think innuendo was Italian for suppository. I'll get me coat...

It's interesting how different public perception of Cher is in the States. Billboard magazine said "with Lloyd's endearing charm, Want u back could be one of the summer's most inescapable songs" Can you imagine any UK paper putting "endearing charm" in the same sentence as "Cher Lloyd"?

No. I can't.

Still America has five times plus as many people, so if she makes it there who cares what the UK papers say?

i'm a little confused by this article. It says WUB sold around 114k this week making it around 400k+ altogether over there (according to skyrock on twitter).
http://www.billboard.com/news/zac-br...07605552.story

Is this info right? and how does this relate to the official Billboard...are they suggesting it's gone official top 10 or is this something else?

i'm being fick so if anyone can throw any light on it i'd appreciate it

Think these are digital sales so mostly iTunes and some other similar sites. In effect this would be the UK chart practically if America did it the same with Billboard. They don't, as Billboard is I think a composite of sales (ie digital) AirPlay and streaming (vevo spotify etc I assume). As WUB is only at 30-35m AirPlay whead others are way over 100m and its vevo views are only 7m odd (I think Rhinnas latest is 80m?) it suffers in the billboard chart compared to iTunes . Indeed the fact AirPlay increase have slowed and the vevo views (unusually for her) are not stellar are the only clouds on WUB's copy book over the past few weeks.

114k is a bit less than I was hoping for (was hoping 130k based on previous week's no 1 being about 240k I think) but no 1 was only just over 200k so given the percentages she's been at all week on pop bars that all sort of tallies, as does a total at 400k or a tad more. Her percentages (and position) have slipped in the past few days but we don't know what the no 1 is selling at present ( some country singer), if he's selling a weekly amount of 250k her totals may not have dropped so much as an absolute figure.

This is now about sales/ longevity not chart position (she's sort if got a top 10 debut now) IMO. If she can keep flogging numbers like 80-100k for a while - UK no 1 last week was only about 70k) we might get up to 800k plus overall (wouldn't a million sound great - but more experienced folk than me might like to make that call).

Overall Epic got to be happy with this so far. Sets up album and presumed tour well and she's now known and getting warm fuzzy comments, AGT to come, she's back in LA now (hurrah!) and where's the Snoop Dogg thing to get urban radio playing it???

cheers for that Owl, makes a lot more sense. With the promo back in swing shortly and Snoop version up the sleeve i'm confident a few more good selling weeks can be squeezed from it. A million seller sounds nice but we'll see

i saw a few tweets about that, can't be true can it?
i'm sure there would have been an official launch for that. Can't say i'll be wearing any either way ................or will I

on another note when did the WUB (UK version) vevo vid get up to 25m views, that's shot up hasn't it? All 3 singles are now over 25m with WUL a clear leader on 34m. It all helps.

I still prefer Cher on her own, but this is much better than Astro and will hopefully give her a boost, along with the AGT appearance. Oh yes, it's all looking good.

I still think the song really doesn't need a rap in it. It doesn't really bring anything to the song. I didn't think it was any better than Astro's part either.

Yes, agree. I can't see it adds anything to the solo version, if I'm honest. Of course this is all about market segmentation and trying to get it on urban station (or whatever the proper term is over there, HAC?) playlists. Fair enough if it works, and increases airplay and sales, and I'm not about to start criticising Epic USA who have so far amply demonstrated they know what they're doing. I hope and suspect it has given a more than good enough showing on its own anyway, given it's in all likelihood going to go gold this week., but if Mr Reid reckons this gives it a boost, then I bow to his judgment.

They do, however, keep pairing her off with slightly implausible "other halves" in WUB. I mean what is a very pretty (very soon) 19 year old young lady going to see in either a 15 (?) yr old or an bloke in his early forties!

Still let's hope it does its job as a remix or whatever it is.

i feel the same kind of underwhelmed by the Snoop as i did Astro, even though it's a much better rap part - snoop's not struggling for breath and is quite amusing. But nothing can effectively replace Cher's tantrum part on the orig

...if it helps get wider radioplay, exposure & subsequently sales then yeah go for it

MAHOOOOSIVE Cher Lloyd fan here. Absolutely obsessed.

Favourite Songs:
Love Me For Me
Dub On The Track (solo)
Stay
End Up Here (Really wanted this to be a single)
With Ur Love
Want U Back

Also her covers of Complicated and Dancing on My Own are absolutely AMAZING! She has improved so much since her X Factor days.

Its great to see her doing so well in America. My Auntie (who lives in America) says her twin daughters (aged 18) play Cher all day. When they came up to Scotland to visit me, they bought her album, so have been showing it off to their friends!

Really hope she can crack the top 10 officially, all we need is the airplay to keep going up! She is still relatively low compared to others!

GO ON CHER!

34.464 is her air play right now. She had a 0.689 increase today, which isn't bad, but it needs to be more. She is number 13 on the airplay chart!!!!! Just over 10.000 and she will be in top 10!

on that subject, i think i'm right in saying she's continuing her radio tour after the AGT appearance this week (tho i'm not certain). Not sure what else can be done to increase radio play - nothing probably.

It's been quiet since she went back to the US, anyone know what she's been up to?

P.S. welcome to the thread Whyhelloworld and also Johnny Orfino before
