time we had an update on things;

still at 6 on US itunes - ahead of her first TV slot this week things are still looking good, looks like WUB should be on the rise for at least the next week or 2, and eventually hitting a million sales isn't a complete fantasy. And the WUB vid maintains it's place at 3 (but the significance of that remains a mystery)

Also up to 16 on Canada's itunes, a country she hasn't set foot in yet - though i suppose it's to America what Ireland is to the UK so maybe not a total shock.

in summary - all still good

S+S out Sep 18th in USA (with a few tweaks), pre orders from July 25th. Press release.

Skyrock tweeted WUB sold 110k last week which sounds about right (can we find a source to check that with though). Even though her percentage of the no 1 was lower virtually all week the absolute number was only about 4k down so one assumes the no 1 sold more than last week's. Anyhow, that would make 534k (plus Canada!) and so is gold.

Now here's a sentence I thought I'd never write in all seriousness - can it do a million and go platinum? Still a big big ask that maybe a step too far IMO but we never thought we'd be here at gold either did we? (well I didn't)

Fingers crossed for tonight on AGT. She'd be inhuman not to be nervous a bit.

Skyrock are never wrong so i won't question that figure. A million sounds plausible but not sure, could depend a lot on how she does tonight as that could rocket next weeks sales or have little impact. We'll see.

anyone got any idea on this weeks likely Billboard position? there's usually some indication about this time of the week

It was a great performance but obviously pre-recorded vocals
hense why you couldn't hear her when she spoke into her own mic at the end lol but that's probs a better move for a debut performance, she'd be nervous so you wouldn't want her f*cking up but she did good I'm proud of her

Don't think it was. There was a backing track sure (as is nearly always the case these days), but to me the main thread that she sang were clearly her and live. I don't think we are into The Voice style controversy here

She was nervous (blimey you would be) but overall it was pretty good. Not knocked out of the park, but pretty good. Certainly way better than WUL last October on X Factor, and should give her a bit of a boost.

No.... that was mimed lol
You couldn't hear her WHAT SO EVER, so her mic was turned off basically... if her mic was on low you would have heard her slightly.

It was pre-recorded lol
A lot of artists do it, so I wouldn't be that concerned or bothered about it

especially for debut performances

That wasn't mimed....X factor UK turn there mics of after they finished their performance, which is why Dermot keeps the microphone to their mouths.

It was live.

Watched it again - it was 100% live....you hear her voice shake when she is taking steps about the place.

She is down to 17 this week (from 16) in the chart - her sales have increased but her airplay is still WAY behind others (read it on the Music forum)

that doesn't mean its live
record labels do that purposely when rerecording pre-recorded vocals... that's the whole point

to make people think it's live
and no they don't turn their mics off
what bullsh*t

I love cher but that wasn't live lol

Yes it was clearly live...

Anyway, flawless performance last night. She's just perfect, I love how she remains the ~same~ even after being successful in USA, she's so adorable. Also, her dress was absolutely stunning.

She has improved so much!

Its official - number 17 this week.

10th best selling song of the week (was no.9 last week) but she is at no.5 on itunes right now (closing in on number 4) so she could be top 5 best selling next week!

I think her airplay will increase this week after the performance

I definitely agree. It's great that she's getting more promo now and will hopefully continue to do well It's amazing to think of how far she's come when two years ago she was just auditioning for TXF.

Well cast you mind back to May 8th. WUB was just going to radio adds and we didn't know if it would get a spin at all, hardly anyone knew who Cher was in N America, it had been raining for weeks, the Daily Fail was being, well, the Daily Fail really. The universe was ordered.

Here we are now July 27th; the sun's been cracking the flags for a week and it's roasting, airplay is nudging 40M, she's negotiated her nerves at her US TV debut, has some folk even apparently camping out to see her, is at 4 (!) on US Itunes, has been top 10 for two weeks, has just cracked top 10 on ITunes Canada - (nice place Canada) and is shifting well over 100K units per week (streaming's still very poor, which is a puzzle but let's not distract from my flow). Rebecca Ferguson is making warm noises about Cher today (bless, not that she has ever done anything else as far as I'm aware, but it's still nice to see), and the Daily Fail comments board as of a few minutes ago was actually fairly evenly split between those having their usual go and people actually standing up for her, saying she's worked hard, good luck, deserves it etc etc. Rombod, bless him must be off in a personal Nirvana.

Has there been some kind of cosmic accident I'm unaware of????

All this and the life changing gigs at Skegness (are they still on??) to come.

At this rate the Olympics will be a success too.

I must lie down.
