Heartbreaking for Celtic.

Maybe last thing on their mind just now, but Samaras's last minute goal to win 3 points in Moscow is likely to prove rather more important than losing 1 point to Alba's last ditch goal tonight.

And Spartak winning tonight in Moscow certainly looks better than if Benfica had won. .

That's football, such a cruel game at times!!

Lennon will be so proud though, was a fantastic effort. At least the goal difference hasn't been dented. Hopefully get a draw at Celtic Park.
goal difference doesn't matter. head to head results are what counts.

It does matter, should Celtic draw 0-0 away at Benfica and they be tied on points then head to head is the same so it comes down to goal difference.

In the first instance, yes, but say if Celtic and Benfica finished level on points and the return match was a 0 - 0 draw again, then overall goal difference would be the next factor.

Still a draw tonight would have been much better

Edit : just beaten to it

About as many times as The Rangers have broken attendance records for a 4th tier match in Scotland.

Speaking of The Rangers and world records I hear their fans now hold the world record for the number of death threats sent to the chief executive of a 4th tier club.
There goes that obsession with a 3rd Division side again.... Sad.

Having a joke at the expense of the 4th tiers side obsession with claiming 'world records' is me being obsessed? Major lulz.

You do realise that you are obsessed with telling people they are obsessed, don't you?

Very impressive to see Lennon talk about hurting after losing and saying he 'hopes' the players learn from it. So often managers from so-called lesser leagues playing giants like Barca tend to say how happy they are.

The only Celtic player that could be slated would be Hooper - thoughts?

So Craig Whyte has been recording meetings with Duff and Phelps, I wonder if he did the same with Murray.

I thought Hooper did ok, it was hard for him to play up top of his own. He didn't have any chances to score last night, because Celtic played very deep.

I thought Hooper could've been more alert at times, but then we could've also done with one or two pinging the ball over the top for him to run on to rather than ball being fizzed into his feet.

He ran all night but his touch let him down when he did get the ball.

Although I expect him to have found his touch in two weeks time.

See Whyte has decided to take the whole of the stinking lot with his. Surely this recording must put questions on Greens takeover as Duff and Duffer were not working on behlf of the creditors?

And I see the Scottish womens team have followed in a long line of Scottish football heartbreak. Drawing 2-2 away to Spain, going through on away goals, and the Spanish score with the last kick of the ball to make it 3-2.

Scottish football, a kick in the baws at all times, even when you don't have any.

Three EPL teams lost this week in the Champions League, puts our performances so far into perspective.

From 'bye, bye Celtic' minutes after the draw was made to this from ITV football:

ITV Football‏@itvfootball

Celtic by far the most impressive British team in the Champions League this week, followed by Man Utd and then a large gap to the rest.

Armageddon is great, isn't it!

Celtic unlucky last night, thought they did well at keeping the best team the world has ever seen out for 93 minutes.

Scotland's women's team, heartbreaking result leading 2-1 in extra time with 5-6 minutes to go, Spain equalise then get a penalty which Gemma Fay saves only to lose to the last kick of the game. Seems the women's team have more heart and passion than anything Harry Potter has put on a field, maybe should give Anna Signeul a chance as the Men's team manager

A bit harsh I think there mate.

He never had the best of games but the service he received wasn't the best either.

Playing the lone striker isn't his game.

So Craig Whyte has been recording meetings with Duff and Phelps, I wonder if he did the same with Murray.
It just gets better and better.

Did they swap jerseys at the end? Seriously though, what a heartbreaker.

Has Chuckles been lying about the attendances The Rangers have been getting?

Whilst I think it is pretty sad that someone would do an FOI for that it is worth remembering that Chuckles is trying to get a share issue going at the moment, He is trying to make them look as attractive as possible and saying that they are getting close to sell out crowds is one way of making them look an attractive proposition.

Non appearing season ticket holders counted in the "recorded attendance" ? Hardly unusual practice.

However, they wouldn't be using such figures to claim record "attendances" would they ?

Sevco celebrating 'world record attendences' while there side struggles to beat part timers really shows how desperate they are.

Will celtic have the highest attendence in scotland this weekend? Who gives a damn. We just went to the nou camp and are looking forward to a home tie v barcelona in two weeks.

The scottish media going all giddy over 'record attendances' for a club in div 3 is pathetic!!

Its like when the fans of oldco used to celebrate being 'the world's most successful club' while somehow failing to accept for a club to have won so many domestic titles yet not reached a mimimum of 1 european cup final was nothing but failure.

Should be interesting indeed. Thomson has been a fair correspondent. Doubt Rangers fans will agree but I believe that he has.

Of course they dont. The only people fair to them are the likes of Jim Traynor, Hugh Keevins and so on. Outsiders with no bias are not liked.
