I will re-post this here as it is more on topic here, than there.

The SPL wants a share of the money the SFL get for the Rangers TV deal.

You really couldn't make it up

It's always been about the money, more to the point, the money Rangers bring with them via sponsorship at TV deals.

They spent months trying to find ways to squeeze Rangers into the SPL so they could get the money, when that didnt work they tried for Div 1 knowing they would get the money next year...that didnt work either.

Now with Rangers in Div3 they face a prospect of 3 (or more) years with no money they have given up hiding behind any kind of façade and are now just outright saying, we want the money you bring and will use any trick in the book to take it, like it or not.

Where is the much talked about "sporting integrity" now?

Back in its box under the stairs where it had been for the previous 40 years, seems it only gets brought out for special occasions, and swiftly put away again when its job is done.

In a situation that requires humility Sevco just can't help themselves, they have inherited the arrogance of Rangers(IA) that's for sure

It's almost as though Mr Green doesn't want membership ...

Once again you show yourself up as a quite 'inept' individual by answering your own question.

The SPL never mentioned sporting integrity. They were shown sporting integrity by the SPL clubs, by the chairmen of the SFL clubs and by supporters across Scotland.

Now, what is your point caller?

Is it sevco's ace in the hole?

sevco: "If you don't drop the investigation into the dead club's cheating then we will withdraw our application for SFA membership!"

That wouldn't surprise me. An avenue opened up for Green to escape with no football while managing to put all the blame on the authorities.

What are you on about?

The SPL clubs were bandying around "sporting integrity" as the primary reason not to allow Rangers to transfer their share over to their new parent company, then when it got to the SFL, "sporting integrity" was used again to banish them to DIV3,( this part i agreed with,as that is where Rangers should have been put)

Not to worry though, "sporting integrity" has served it's use, and is now safely back in it's box under the stairs.

Unless McCoist has been in it from the start, I doubt it. Then again ...

I have wondered about you for quite some time but every post you make emphasises your 'blind offended persona'.

It is the SPL that is forcing the issue over future TV deals. To their credit, it is the only thing they have never budged on - irrespective of your view of them. It is no one else. So, why are you surprised that the SPL should persue TV money now? What has offended you now that didn't offend you when the SPL were trying to force Rangers into the SPL/ SPL2 or SFL1.

Not surprisingly, your logic has by-passed me

Rangers have done nothing wrong yet fear the results of an investigation into possible cheating.

We seem to on a different page here.
the SPL can vote that Rangers cant enter the SPL, what is an issue is that after telling Rangers " we dont want you", they are now adding, "but we want some of the money you will bring"

The SPL have no reason that i can see to ask for money from a club that is operating i different league, any money earned should go to the lower divisions, that is where Rangers are, so that is the leagues that should get the money.
whats not to understand?

Morton lost 1-0 in the Renfrewshire cup to the manky mob from pishley. A late goal from former Morton striker Paul McGowan was enough to give them the trophy

Actually, wouldn't bringing the TV rights under a single umbrella be a good stepping-stone to the supposed paradise of merging the leagues?

Of course, the SFL should get their fair share (whatever that may be), but the idea in itself isn't a bad one necessarily.

The SPL have, bizarrely, shown integrity. They kept out SevCo and had a democratic vote on who should replace the now bankrupt Rangers.

It's Neil Doncaster as an individual who has shown no integrity.

After being condemned for voting Newco into the Third Division as opposed to the First, didn't the SFL say that they wanted a 42 club solution (as in the whole of the SFL and SPL) to the problem of finance in Scottish football?

Sounds like a good start to me.

Apathy, probably.

I've not checked the rules, but it would probably need umpteen different processes to even propose the removal of the CEO.

was a good game despite the result, mcgowan is far too good for st m****n and they will be lucky to hold onto him
