Absolutely delighted for Celtic tonight, seriously delighted. What an amazing support, the display at the start of the game was truly awesome. Barcelona tweet ... pure class.

Forster ... two world class performances against the best team in the world. Glad we now have a genuine back up for Hart

Sincerest congratulations to all the Bhoys on the forum.

Fantastic result for Celtic today. Congratulations to all the Celtic fans on here. As much as it pains me to say it I am so jealous of you all just now. I miss the CL days and would love to be in your position just now.

Some Barca reaction:

Valdes: ""Difficult game at a pitch where crowd puts a lot of pressure. We tried until the end, but it wasn't to be."

Messi: "We did everything well, played better than two weeks ago against them, but the ball didn't go in. Still first, two more games now."

Xavi: "The atmosphere was wonderful, the way the fans support their team... It's an example for all other teams."

Villanova: "Congratulations to Celtic for the game, and to the Celtic fans for the spectacular role they play. We interpreted the game well, knew what we wanted to do, created many chances, but didn't finish well and their keeper was great. I don't like to lose, but if we have to lose, let it be this way."

When do Celtic get their trophy? All this hysteria, they've won the competition right?

They surely havent just got 3 points? I mean no-one has ever beaten Barca before.

Good result but calm down.

This isn't just hysteria it's more about sticking it right up those who predicted doom and gloom all summer long.

Not really. I've seen my unfancied team beat Barcelona in the CL at home too.

More...perspective

Oh behave, it was a tremendous night, to be thoroughly enjoyed, as I hope you did too with your win..

Folk are not saying Celtic are about to win the Champions League.

I'm no Celtic fan. But well done, Celtic. Tremendous stuff in all the circumstances and against this Barcelona team. A night to be truly remembered .

Poor Ambassador. Fresh from him/her getting it spectacularly wrong about big Fraser Forster they now feel the need to come out with this pure unadulterated rubbish.

Just wanted to say how delighted I am for young Tony Watt, a local boy we are all very proud of.
No matter what team you support you can't deny the boy the achievement of scoring the winner against Barcelona 11mins into his Champs League debut - especially when he was playing in the Scottish 2nd division until recently!
What a night he must have had!

Sorry to take the discussion away from celtic again fantastic. Does anyone think levein picked that scotland squad before he was fired as with the amount of the old guard picked for a friendly.

Although steven Whittaker one game for Norwich and straight back in nothing changes there.
Bit strange that the likes of Griffiths Russell mackay Stevens all of whom stark knows can't get a chance in a meaningless friendly

Why don't Scotland ever promote from the under 21s so rarely. Its once you are too old for them you go into the wilderness till you about 26 then you still get called a young player

Judging by the squad I think you are right there.

they are hurting, its akin to saying 'Please dont forget about us'

They claim they'll be back where they belong in the champions league yet as the stats show Celtic have won more CL games than the whole of Scottish football put together.

He never did leave the Hall of fame did he?

I'm not wrong about Foster at all. I said he was a good shot stopper but weak in other areas. Which is true. I said he was the 4th best keeper at Newcastle. Which was true.
Yeah he had a good game but my opinion remains

I dont understand why in Scotland it seems players have to go through the whole setup. Under 19, under 21 and then the full international. Some times there are players who do not need this and are good enough to go straight to full international but its always the same mantra "too young". Where has this rubbish come from. If your good enough, your old enough!!

““It’s about surviving and celebrating a fantastic history,” Jardine said. “I noticed Celtic are celebrating 125 years and they are a fantastic club. But – maybe I’m biased – they don’t come anywhere near what we’ve done in 140 years when you look back through our history”

Biased, never, Sandy.

For remember, you're the world's greatest club with all these league championships

Congratulations and I mean that. As a supporter of a club in another pish league (no offence intended to any scots) I recognise the level of the win last night. Anyway congratulations and well done

No offense taken

Yes, Scots, especially, need to be pretty warped not to see this as worth huge congratulations and for Celtic fans to be truly excited about.

140 years and a stain on football. Let’s see a 100 years where there was refusal to sign catholic players. Still to this day they haven’t signed any players from Southern Ireland have they? A cup winners cup win where their own fans got a game abandoned before 90 mins were up as the opposition scored and they had to accept the trophy in the dressing room due to the shambolic scenes. The city of Barcelona has no desire to see them back over there.
A club which cheated the taxman out of nearly £100 mil and are under investigation for allegedly using illegally registered players to win titles.

What a great history!!

Just how many European cup finals and European cup wins has your club achieved Sandy?
